It's tough when you lose in a winning position, but no one could have caused your computer to disconnect unless they had control of your computer.

That seems unlikely, even in today's environment, where hackers can get access to the government employment records and company credit cards files. I hope you keep your antivirus and firewall products up to date.

But even if they had such control, don't you think they would use for bigger things than winning chess games? And if your opponent had such a thing, don't you think his rating would be higher than 1268?

If you want to report him for his nasty language, that is one thing you can do.  Use the contact form. Not enough people actually file those reports. When they do, staff is good about muting such people so that they can't bother others.

thank u for your reply, Chess.com has concurred with you that another cannot didconnect you...It just appears starnge to me that this has happened 3 times to me, all in games I was winning, all on my move with time pressure, and I lost all three games because I could not reconnect in time.

Just started a game with a player from Canada, after 3 moves he offered a draw....When I refused he stayed online and let his clock run, with a reply, my choice...This childish behavior has no room on chess.com...Has anybody else had this experience, its unacceptable....Rick

Your archive says the game was declared abandoned. How long did you have to wait?

The fact that this happens is one of the major reasons more people don't play live chess with slow time controls.

I think you posted in the wrong thread. This one was about people who can allegedly force disconnections.
