Climate Change = Huge Hoax 2 (STRICTLY no personal attacks, religion, or politics)

Also climate change has been around for millions of years but it was quite slow, like very slow. This gave animals time to adapt and better fit for changing environments. The reason why our climate change is a problem is because our artificial climate change is way too fast. In the span of 200 years we might have experienced the same change in climate as 2000 year in the prehistoric eras. This means that modern animals will have no time to adapt to change temperatures and environments and will die.

Have your climate change misconceptions been fixed? I hope so because trust me you may see the truth with your very own eyes.

This goes for anyone on the opposing side. If you are so concerned about the climate, you wouldn’t buy electronics.

That's always a failing argument tactic.

That is a horrible comparison. Solving world hunger by not eating is counterintuitive.

You act like you are so concerned about the climate, when you own electronics. Solving the electronic issue by not buying electronics is not counterintuitive, it is a solution.

How can you solve climate change without any electronic climate reading instruments

I live in flroida will it flood befor i die or after?

Avatar of Sobrukai
Idk, depends on how long you last before you get run over by a drunk red head on a tractor. God won’t let that happen though :).

Most likely after

Maybe, sources are a bit spotty on the exact date, I’m seeing a lot of 2100’s. Mike your 15 now so you will need to live to 92 to get to 2100. That’s a long life but due to medical advances your odds increase every second.

No, global warming is a lot like Covid on this front...if only some people take measures, it doesn't work.

Most of the issue at the moment is the hundreds of millions of dollars worth of property lost due to floods and the hundreds of millions of dollars being spend on flood protection.

Things I believe are false:

  • Storms increasing in severity due to increase in temperature
Wrong - this is increasingly firmly established

Prove it.

  • Ocean levels will rise 60-200ft if all ice melts
Wrong. And why would you be so foolish?? (And it's over 200 ft)
  • A mere .1 degree increase will have catastrophic effects
Strawman. It's a rise of very many 0.1 degrees that is the concern.

Which has been happening for millions of years.

  • A mere .1 degree increase over the course of 100 years is urgent
Strawman combined with a scenario unrelated to the real world

This is very much related to the real world, people are saying it is urgent right now.

  • Humans are a direct cause of Climate Change
Wrong - there is no significant doubt about this.

Then it should have increased dramatically in the 1800s, which—last I checked—isn’t in your charts.

Congratulations - you have scored 1/10. Don't say I am not generous.

The dumbest one is disbelieving the sea level rise that would occur if all the ice melted. This is simple arithmetic from direct observations of how much ice there is. Are you not aware of that?

Show this math then.

You need to refer to people who can do such basic things a lot more often to avoid being wrong.

Area of Antarctica ice - 14,000,000 km^2

Average thickness of Antarctic ice - 2.16 km

Area of oceans - 361,000,000 km^2

Ratio of density of ice to water - 0.92

So 14,000,000 * 2.16 * 0.92 / 361,000,000 = 0.077 km = 77 meters
So now you know.

What are you going to do now - announce that you are unfamilar with the surveys, or think the Earth may be bigger, or maybe the Earth is flat and Antarctic doesn't exist?

Another example of having a wacky view due to (with all due respect) complete ignorance of the facts is your statement about climate change before the industrial revolution - "Then it should have increased dramatically in the 1800s, which—last I checked—isn’t in your charts."

Here are annual human CO2 emissions over time. Can you even read a graph?

It should have been a much higher increase. Factories pumped out more smoke than ever, and Britain was entirely enveloped in smoke at times.

Did you even read my other message

Climate change started in the 1800’s due to the Industrial Revolution, but it was so little smog compared to today. Our factories and power plants release so much more emissions then those coal factories did, and that’s not even considering cars! Do you know how many people drive??? A lot! Hundreds of millions of people drive! That’s a lot of smog, so much more than any textile factory could have produced.
Avatar of Sobrukai
Britain was covered in smoke, but Britain is so small compared to the world.
