@Marie-anne New York isn't the worst, if you disregard absolutely everything over the last 6 months.

There's a saying in England: "if my aunt had....." nevermind.

@Btickler with regards to population density, we could discuss Mumbai which is called "the most densely populated urban area on earth" by USA Today. New York's deaths are as bad as the entirety of India. There goes the population density excuse.

And did you just get excited about a fact-check that was "mostly true"? I mean... it's lower than my usual standard, I admit

I'll say again, as you seem to want to go around in circles, that the stats are abysmal. If you do not think so, then we will have to agree to disagree.

Have a good weekend.

India data are not of the same quality has the NY data!

India healthcare system is not even 20% of the same quality has the NY system and the pandemie is far from over yet so common sense tell me that you are not in good faith here.

India added a record number of Covid-19 cases - nearly 35,000 - in the last 24 hours, breaching the one million mark.

India's number of cases has been on the rise - with nearly record daily surges - in recent weeks. It overtook Russia earlier this month to occupy the third spot for the highest number of coronavirus cases globally.

Yes, India is now third Corona effected country but still recovery rate is better so we hope to face this pandemic.... if healthcare system of India is not so perfect, how is possible to have recovery rate above 60%

If i talk about only Mumbai, there are now active cases 23,348 at present and population is 20.4 million. So you can check this ratio according population. Just don't assume that India data is not the same quality.

I didn't mean in the big cities....Big cities have modern facilities....

India has a vast health care system, but there remain many differences in quality between rural and urban areas as well as between public and private health care. Despite this, India is a popular destination for medical tourists, given the relatively low costs and high quality of its private hospitals.

Drawbacks to India's healthcare system today include low quality care, corruption, unhappiness with the system, a lack of accountability, unethical care, overcrowding of clinics, poor cooperation between public and private spheres, barriers of access to services and medicines, lack of public health knowledge

Now, coming to medical seats available in the country - As of today, India has a shortage of half a million doctors. Every year India produces 50000 doctors, however we will need 100 colleges added every year for the next 5 years for us to even have an acceptable doctor to population ratio by 2029.

A total of 318,361 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS Scotland labs and UK Government Labs to date. Of these:

  • 299,939 were confirmed negative
  • 18,422 were positive
  • .057% were positive
Strangemover

Correct, the figure of 21 was the most recent daily total and not reflective of the overall total and %age, my mistake and apologies. So 0.57% of the population have tested positive...do you have the total number of Covid related deaths in Scotland @Marie-AnneLiz?

Worldwide we'll be passing 15 million cases today...

US will pass 4 million cases.

Thee_Ghostess_Lola

notice that %'ages (and the corresponding acceleration rate) become less n'less important as we open this umbrella ? and that the hard count becomes the real focus ? its cuzza the nature of the arithmetic and the subsequent impact on ability to treat, right ?

iows, 8% of 1,000 new cases (a couple months ago) dn at the hospital is 80 beds needed. BUT, 2% (a 75% deceleration rate) of 80,000 cases (take 20% a those requiring a hospital bed) is 16,000 new patients !!

...and thats just in the USA/T's. red lights for a giant snowball.

Thee_Ghostess_Lola

Wazir, i hope u feel better. if i can say, i feel that stress can be a good thing if it creates a alarm to a doorstep danger. mindfulness and deep breathes and sipsa water aid in mgmt. not giving u advice...just expressing this to help remind myself in how to deal w/ this invisible monster.

ok. the way clinical trails go, no one's gonna come up with Vaccine Voila any time soon. the absolute soonest ive read is mid/late oct. thats 90 days away.

would anyone venture to predict WW and USA/T's count by then ? meaning the 15MM/4MM numbers may be pathetically pale in comp in 3 months.

Oxford has the vaccine, so, wait a few more months, and this nightmare will be over.

Next step will be making the vaccine affordable. I can't help but think that some people will be left out because of the cost of the vaccine.

No they don't;they did not test it on peoples older than 55 or on peoples with some health condition or on some young peoples and they do have some mild side effect ob perfectly healthy peoples like head ache etc....they need a lot more testing this years to know if it will be safe for every one for next year....that in 8 months...

Thee_Ghostess_Lola

Maries right. Astrazeneca, moderna, & pfizer expect s/t in late-late 2020. whereas J&J and s/o else expect a concoction in early 2021. but re: these dates are as good as thigh creme. warning: add 2-3 months for the face of reality to put on its eyeline flare & gloss.

And don't forget the anti-vaccines people.

Oh! no,another bad news!

Confused-psyduck

"Ha, COVID19 must be a hoax so that liberals can suppress people' freedom and pharmaceutical companies make money selling toxic vaccines"

That must sound about right

If it were a quote, I would say from who it is. But, as I am sure you can understand, I was just throwing a tiny spike at people who hold such point of views. No Issue with that, is there?

Stop watching that fake news @marie-anne like everyone else. Video below.

Btw I wore a facemask for the first time today. I'm being dead straight - the people that were apt to talk to me were significantly more overweight than I am used to.

It sucks quite frankly. People who don't understand the suckage probably know nothing but suckage. Absolutely awful.

Oh do not worry i did stop watching Fox many years ago!wink.png

Just like when the Liberal Media telling us there was a pandemic incoming, was fake news?

Just like when the Liberal Media telling us we were  critically short on testing supplies, was fake news?
