decorum for the chess title

while i am a very poor chess player this is not the same thing as a poor carer of good chess.

i find it ugly that the chennai games are in such a poor environment.

they lack the good graces to wear suits and ties.  they have logos on their jackets.  they do not play in front of an audience of fide members ( with large screens for the fide members to see the board ). 

it looks cheap.

it lacks respect for the game.

a commentater said that chess was a "sport"...i guess it is if you do not dress up and ask for a nice environment.  it chess is an "art" then it would all be different.

chess is not a sport.  yes, it is a game, but not all games are sport, some games are art.

activity becomes art when activity is played beyond the abiltiy of most who engage in it.  to reduce chess to sport is to say that anyone who is better than most at an activity is an artist...thus the prostitute might become an artist.
