Discussion about the Tactic Trainer in Chess.com

Hi All: I want to open a discussion on the Tactic Trainer.

I have attempted 25,000 Tactics in the last 3 years.  I have a 60% pass rate.

I have lots of topics we can discuss regarding tactic training.

1) How are the tactic puzzles rated?  What is it based on what? My current tactic rating is 1630 does that mean that I am a 1600 player. For me no way. I did well for a while now sliding. 

2) One person, I  met online,  suggested, that "I should not focus on my tactical rating but instead focus on my pass rate percentage. I really thought about this and I have to disagree.  The reason is in theory if the problems get harder your  pass rate will fall. As you approach your tactical peak and beyond your pass rate will fall.  I have seen some IM's with tactic ratings of 2550 and yet their pass rate was 59%.  Food for discussion. 

I will initiate this post hope it finds some folks and get some attention

Guess I'm the only one to agree that there should be a forum centered on the TT for comments,questions and answers.

I thought so too Tony. Not sure why it  didn't spark any interest when first posted.

What I think would be interesting would be maintaining a database with all the solutions to the problems, then getting like a 5,000 tactics rating.

That would require quite an effort I'm sure.

I am near 2300 but got as high is 2361 this does not mean much and my percent correct is only 54% out of 43,000+ puzzles.
