I thought it was a joke, but I am thinking it can be true.

Your comment?

It makes me recall a comedian... maybe Louis CK?

He had a joke that was about how feminists are so smart, because for thousands of years they let men hunt and go to war, and that was fine, but "as soon as they put air conditioners in office buildings" they wanted equality.

It is quite surprising to me. My thinking is

Human body temp is the same, regardless of sex. 22 or 25 C should be personal preference.

And also, women have more fat % than men. So  more women would probably prefer 22 C, not men.

Yeah, higher fat would make you warmer.

But maybe working against women is that volume increases faster than surface area. So a man with relatively thicker arms and legs and torso (for their given length) will retain heat better.

But sure, even more probably depends on the body's preferred temperature. As a MD you know more about that than most of us. For example when we have a fever we feel cold even though we're hot because the body wants to be hot.

And for me, my normal healthy body temperature is a little under 37 C even though 37 C is the average. So I may not feel cold as soon as someone whose natural body temp is a little higher.

All my life I've observed that men generally like the temperature cooler than women. I've always heard it was due to the hormonal differences in the sexes, but I haven't tried researching the phenomenon.
