It’s a British science fiction tv show
Extremely popular in England, but I think only England.

Biggest tear jerker is Amy's departure "goodbye my raggedy man" gets me every time
Never really got into it other than watching some Tom Baker repeats.
Obviously a good show though.

Jon Pertwee was my first doctor then came Tom Baker. After him I lost touch as life took over and I came back to it for Paul McGann. They have all been good since.
The David Tennant series seemed to do very well. Seemed that Americans were into it too from what I remember.
The Tom Baker repeats were something that I'd dip in and out of. Which given the somewhat crazy nature of that show (and him as doctor - seems brilliantly eccentric and I've seen him on Fort Boyard too), made it harder to follow.
Entertaining though.

Day of the doctor... Yes.. A cracker. John Hurt and matt Smith and David Tennant and clara! Great plot line too.
