The only person who really knows if it helps them play better or not is yourself. In my opinion though if you manage to match the right strain with the persons genetics

I personally have never taken other drugs...When I was younger..yes...the occasional asprin and cold medications...But when my gf introduced me to marijuana I have no use for those other drugs that gives me comfort when sick and been healthy ever since...Weed works...

Can you really know for sure without some kind of structured experiment? Unless the difference is huge, then you will notice that you sometimes win and sometimes lose, high or not.

I have done plenty of my own structured experiments. If I smoke the right strain it helps me with patience for a start. my list is endless.

It may help people who get so nervous they have trouble collecting their thoughts, but otherwise should slightly reduce your thinking ability.
My personal experience is that it slows down but doesn't seem to otherwise reduce my thinking ability, but I've never smoked weed while playing chess.
Anybody in areas where weed is legal interested in mailing me some edibles? I want to test the stuff, but I find it hard to justify flying across the Pacific and enormously increasing my carbon footprint as a result.

The herb is still illegal under federal laws here in the USA to grow..use and mail a commodity that consumers want...Best thing to do is grow your own discreetly and avoid any money transactions either buying or selling related to marijuana...

IM SHARPER CLEAR MINDED without it. BUT while on it , I have heap loads of patience to really really really think about moves and take MY time. The complete opposite of a beer or two. The feds need to clear it..... current legal patient......be well...everybody’s different. But we all agree, it’s time to invest.

You may be right but it would be a bad thing. Long term, it causes damage to the brain. It's also definitely addictive.
However, the pro-cannabis lobby never admits that negatives exist. They're conning everybody.
