Wow, a Facebook philosophy seminar.  Now that's living!

Not as good as "The West Meets China" was back in 07.

Scientific? There's only one pompous fool here. To$$er. Seriously, happy.png where was the scientific you sighted?>>> happy.png

I didn't notice any and if you gave anything worth taking seriously then I'd take it seriously even if it was some half-baked doctoral thesis that ignored all the negatives and mentioned only positives? Just so long as it was in some way systematic then it could be systematically exposed for what it is, but when you troll and claim you just said something when there's nothing there to argue against then don't expect anyone here to take you seriously. This is not Facebook. Ppl should be more intelligent here. <3

<<<<Myth: Marijuana Leads to Harder Drugs

There is no scientific evidence for the theory that marijuana is a “gateway” drug. The cannabis-using cultures in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America show no propensity for other drugs.>>>>

If you think that this self-proclaimed mythology is "scientific" then you really have no business talking with grown-ups, because it ain't. It's opinion and bad opinion at that. It's also wrong. Cannabis is a gateway drug .... I've seen it hundreds of times. I also spent six months in India and Pakistan in '76 and I noticed a dozen alternative drugs, like datura, some very dangerous, which killed people. Regularly.

The common name "datura" has its origins in India, where the sister species Datura metel is considered particularly sacred — believed to be a favorite of Shiva in Shaivism.[42] Both Datura stramonium and D. metel have reportedly been used by some sadhus and charnel ground ascetics, such as the Aghori as both an entheogen and ordeal poison. It was sometimes mixed with cannabis as well as highly poisonous plants like Aconitum ferox to intentionally create dysphoric experiences.[43] They used unpleasant or toxic plants such as these in order to achieve spiritual liberation (moksha) in settings of extreme horror and discomfort.[44][45]

Even so, I think it was very co-operative of Frankooo to demonstrate the point I was making by going off on one like that when all I did was to express an opinion.

I have an account on another site where I only play under the influence of marijuana, my blitz/bullet ratings are about 100 points lower. I think that I am more creative but it's harder to remember theory

Interesting analogy...Marijuana is a relaxing mind drug...I think with reason and logic in my perspective where time is not the essense therefore any blitzing or bulleting chess would become an  annoyance resulting in poor play ...

That one episode where he busted a dude in the school hallway after he saw him with some weed in the classroom was a classic...

Hey frank, you know which episode that was?

DHQ Night School....type in Dragnet marijuana episodes for some laughable law vs. hippie scenerios....

Wow, Jack Elam!  This thread has just achieved true beauty.

Good actor in a lot of westerns...What made him unique was his lazy blind eye...That photo of him would of been great as a poster child during the great depression...

Datura is poison; you might as well go smash your head in, hallucinate, and then tell everybody you were high on a YouTube video.

Cannabis is not a gateway drug, or we might as well call food the first offender and culprit, food being the mind altering substance it is.

It all boils down to discipline, and a cool culture.

Years of continuous and regular usage of cannabis will alter your brain chemistry. In a way, the THC and all the other little compounds found in weed will become a part of you. When that happens, a consumer is most unlikely to choose anything other than cannabis. Biologically and neurologically, it just wouldn't do the trick, it wouldn't fit the pattern that your brain has adopted on a chemical and neurological level.

Ah yes, once again it's the stiffs vs the fun people!>>

Don't be harsh. I know a lot of pro-weed stiffs are completely mentally inflexible and don't know the meaning of fun but some of them are ok. Sure, weed tends to dampen down the ability to enjoy oneself but it can aid some self examination and so on. And dancing and stuff for those that don't fall over.

Not so much when you answer criticisms you think you disagree with though! tongue.png

Very good post. Obviously this man has something of the scientist in him. I found it difficult to change my habits of smoking it every day for five years and get to the stage where I could take it or leave it. For the past ten years I haven't taken it at all because, quite simply, I don't need it. I also don't need the mood swings it causes. But I can put myself in any state that cannabis is used to produce, just by thinking in a particular way.

Not as strong as what we used to get up to and including 1971, however. Not nearly as strong. You would have to have been around then AND had the right access to understand that. I reached the conclusion that the authorities collude in agreeing that it's strongest "now" to help prevent people from feeling that there could be something better. Or more dangerous. happy.png

Few years ago i was walking into a dollar store on 04-20.  Some guy standing outside the door says:  "Happy 420 day"  I said im not an addict.  He says: "Neither am I.  I'm just a recreational user."  I said I'm a recreational serial killer.  I just do it on Fridays and Saturdays to unwind.  We should hang out sometime.  He walked away...

Perhaps you over-reacted? What's 04-20?

Every April 20th.  You have those guys that want to wish someone a happy 420 day.  420 has something to do with pot.

OK I looked it up.

Let's see, the guy's waxing nostalgic about those bags of shake you used to get back in the 1960s.  To make things even more improbable:  he's British.

You don't know what you're talking about. I smoked my way through Summer 1981 all the way from LA up to Vancouver and across to Quebec City. I know why you think "now" is the strongest ever.  happy.png

I had a comment about the 70's if I could only remember what it was...

I know what it was. The 60s ended in 1972?
