dogs are better than cats
I honestly think cats are far superior.
This talk about how "dogs are loyal" and "cats don't like being touched" probably comes from people who've never had a cat.
I live with six cats and a dog. Our cats are just as loyal as our dog is. They just show affection in different ways; unlike dogs, cats don't show affection by annoyingly running over and jumping on top of you. Cats are simply more gentle about it, which I strongly prefer.
I can name plenty of irritating things about dogs. Here are a few:
- They will eat anything they can. For example, if they see a piece of trash lying around anywhere and they can get to it, they will eat it. If I am having dinner or something like that, my dog will also try to eat it if I look away for a second.
- They're much more boisterous. As I said already, I prefer the gentleness of cats, while dogs very often just cannot calm down.
- For the first few years of their life at least, you must either take them everywhere you go, leave them in their crate, or board them at a dog boarder (or find someone to watch them). If you're going on vacation somewhere that doesn't allow pets, it's not very convenient. You can just leave cats at home.
- They're louder. This may not be a big problem for everyone, but it's another thing I find annoying about dogs.
- It is necessary to train them. You must potty train them and teach them many other commands that they have to be taught to have a well-behaved dog. Cats don't need all the training.
I can't think of any cons for cats... I mean, there are, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.
As I said, I also have a dog. Point number one is certainly not false based on my dog and other dogs I've known.
I don't agree with your second point. From what I've seen with all of the dogs I've known, the only time they're not too excited is when they're older.
I don't mean to be impolite, but how on earth is my third point irrelevant if you aren't breeding them? Are we talking about the same point three??
And, are we talking about the same point four?? How is taking responsibility related to dogs being too loud (in my opinion) at all?
For the fifth one, it is correct that I don't train our dog. I didn't buy him, my parents did. But they had no problems training him. Simply stating that it's much easier to own a cat in that manner because you don't have to go through all of the trouble training them.

yeah cus dogs are more like children than cats are... youre buying a different product. Cats have cons of course they do for example if you have kids either one can hurt the other, they constantly get in fights which you cant stop they definitely do crawl on you only when youre sleeping, which is kind of like a personality trait (different cats have different personalities) they can also die very easily.
Yes, cats can hurt kids and kids can hurt cats, but it's the same for dogs as well.
They may constantly get into fights if they're an outdoor cat, but it doesn't have to be an outdoor cat. It's probably more of a fair comparison to compare an indoor cat to a dog because there isn't such a thing as outdoor dogs.
You can close your door if you don't want a cat crawling on you while you sleep, right?
Also, never have I heard of a cat just "die very easily". Pretty sure that one isn't accurate (no offense).
