This is a tough question - there are a number of competing theories about the cause of dyslexia and they differ in terms of whether nonlingual spatial abilities (like chess-playing) are affected as well.
Very roughly speaking, there are two camps: One seeks the source of the disorder in the auditory systems of the brain, the others in the visual systems. If the cause of dyslexia is auditory in nature, then chess-playing most likely is not affected but if the underlying defect of dyslexia is visual in nature, then it would have an impact on chess as well.
Either way, oversights like you describe them happen to most players and decrease with practice. They happen to me, too, and I am not dyslexic (any typos in this post being caused by fat fingers).
I was wondering: me having dyslexia and so, I was wondering does it have any impact on playing chess? Some say it does, but when me playing with a friend board and pieces at me home porch it seems it aint bothering me. Was wondering. Anyway, me playing faster games here on a screen, it seems I often forget parts of the board to see, that pieces still standing there existing. Sometimes I fully miss it seeing. So I was wanderin, anyone knows?
