Well Erick, it all depends. Sicilian (1.e4 c5) has a lot of theory behind it. Similarly, 1.e4 e5 has a very large tree of theory as well, plus there can be a lot of openings from this move. I don't know if I've shown you any of my games, but I play the Pirc (1.e4 d6 2. d4 Nf6). I know I've gone over a little of this with either you or some of your teammates. It's a hypermodern opening, meaning black allows white to build up a big center with the intent of attacking from the wings when the time is right. The big challenge here is when white plays f4, leading to a variation called the Austrian Attack. I'd suggest talking to Todd as well, he's probably got a better grip of your strengths than me, and knows more opening theory, so he'd be good to help you with that.
Favorite openings
As white I'm getting more and more in love with the English opening. Further than that I haven't really studied the various opening lines, since there really is no need for a 1400~ player to do so.
I also feel that there isn't much need to study openings that much at low ratings. That's why I don't really have a favourite opening but as white I usually play e4 and see what happens and as black it depends on what my opponent moves but usually something common so that I don't blunder away my material in the beginning

Heya guys!
Let's talk about openings. Personally, for white, i like King's Indian Attack and london's. While for black, I play Philador's and Tarrasch. If anyone knows a good black e opening let me know. Thanks
