Well you seem loike a nice kid so good luck with it and take care Seb.
Getting deployed ! :)

Hey ! Lol.
Are you familiar with the Michigan Militia? They are mainly a bunch of pot-bellied old paranoids who are armed with some high power weaponry and skulking about the brush of central Michigan, defending their "freedom" from the Federal government and its wicked ways.
No, not too fimmiliar with it no.
Well, instead of dealing with the details of this or that particular outburst in American politics, here's a link to understand the whole thing at once:

And now you also know why Canada needs an army.

Sounds like a group that I would support.

For some reason, I don't doubt it.
Me neither.
(I could have been myself and told the tool what an idiot statement that is, but, I'm trying hard to be a nicer Al)

See, this is what I don't like about some "liberals." They assume that everyone who disagrees with them is either intellectually inferior or has ulterior motives. And to think that these are people who consider themselves tolerant.
And btw, I did some research on the group, and I do support them.
But I must say, this experience is more like a military boot camp because of its lenght, its only 8 weeks maximum. It is considered as army service but its probably much different as you would expect. Its not shooting at taliban all the time
Its hard though. Not anybody can do this type of stuff even though its not in Iraq or vietnam although these people deserve a million times more respect then me.
Its still something that I cant believed that I did though
I would never of guessed when I was 6 or 7 that I would be able to do this. Its a honour and a privilege for me.
Congratulations Sebleb! So what kind of stuff did you do while you were there? Marching? Drills? Did you learn to shoot a gun?

Ahaha well thank you ! So when I was there it was for millitary homeguard ( Deffend Canada incase we get an attack ) Because if ever that would happen, it would probably be sometime around now because of the attacks in Russia - Ukraine and everything in Israel ect. But obviousily there was no attack.
So what did I do ? Oh man, lots of memories. I would sleep in my uniform so when I would wake up at 5 in the morning I would be ready. I would do lots of marching and drill too. And yes alot of shooting. I took special courses that I had to jump into freezing water and I had to fight against the current to get to shore ( Like D day
) And you had to save yourself from drowning and hipothermia. Even combat practice and everything.

Thanks ! But making to everybody clear that its not like afghanistan or anything. Its just homeguard. ( Deffence )
SedLeb, congratulations on finishing your basic training. I went through that in 1988 and have been in a uniform ever since.
To be clear on behalf of Seb, what he finished was Army Cadet Basic Training. This is an introduction to cadet and military life. It's been an awfully long time since I went through the cadet program, but drill, discipline, quarters, teamwork, and esprit de corps are likely emphasised.
Canada does not employ child soldiers and is a signatory of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. By our own laws we have always had a minimum age for enlistment in the Military.
It would be incorrect to consider this 'Home Guard' or Army service or a deployment. Canada does not have a home guard and defence falls solely to the Canadian Armed Forces. Deployment is deployed on operations. We deploy from bases not to them.
All that aside, I hope you took a lot away from your camp. Those lessons will serve you well in life. Good luck with the rest of your cadet career.
Play well

Yeah thank you for helping me explain that. What I meant by deployed might of confused alot of people, What I meant was being deployed from my home core. And I am curious, what course did you do after that ? I am interested in going into marksmanship. I am already pretty well trained in that and I would like to get even better. That would certainly make my dad proud. My family has a long line of very good shots.
