More Washington drought. It is getting so bad! Very BAD drought!

During the weather forecast this morning Rod Hill said we are up for rainfall for March (by a lot), up for March/April so far, and up for the water year. I think by so called "drought" they mean it didn't rain on February 4th AND February 5th. But then again, if it did rain those two days they'd probably say there is a flood watch. From climate change of course.

The Arctic had much less sea ice in 1903 and 1958 as compared to today. The earths rotation speed is increasing. Ocean salinity is increasing. Ports all over the planet are dredging, not building sea walls. Island surface area is increasing, not decreasing. Wave cut platforms are visible on every shoreline. Fishermen in the north are having navigation issues due to low water. The earths climate is cooling, our oceans are receding, and our governments know it.

The Great Energy Shell Game

The Hook: The "Free" Fuel

The scam begins with a simple truth used to hide a complex lie. They tell you the wind and sun are "free," unlike coal or gas. They show you a Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) chart where a wind turbine’s sticker price is lower than a gas plant. You are led to believe that once the machines are built, the era of expensive bills is over.

The Bait: The "Additive" Grid

Because wind is intermittent, they don't tell you that you are actually buying two grids. For every 100MW of wind you build, you must keep nearly 100MW of gas plants idling in the background. If you don't, the moment the wind stops, the hospital lights go out.
To hide this, they invent the “Security of Supply” market. They take your tax money and pay the gas plants a bribe (capacity payments) just to sit there and not produce power. The bill is moved from your Electricity Rate to your Income Tax, so you don't realize you're paying for a redundant shadow system that shouldn't need to exist.

The Switch: The Maintenance Mirage

They project a 25-year lifespan to make the loans look affordable. But the physics of the ocean and the stress of 200mph tip speeds don't care about your accounting.
 * Giant blades begin to crack in 3 to 5 years
 * Gearboxes seize up at year 10
 * The maintenance army required to fix 100,000 individual failure points is non-existent.
A turbine sits broken for six months because the specialized crane ship is booked until next summer. While it sits as a multi-million-dollar lawn ornament, you are still paying the interest on its debt.

The Burn: The Disposal Debt

When the machine finally hits the Repair Cliff at year 12, it is cheaper to scrap it than fix it. They cut up the fiberglass blades, which cannot be recycled, and bury them in the earth. They leave the massive concrete foundations to rot. Then, they ask for a new round of "Green Subsidies" to "repower" the site, starting the cycle of waste and debt all over again.

The Result: The Triple Bill

By the end of the scam, you are paying for:
 1. The Wind Farm: Which is broken or underperforming.
 2. The Gas Backup: Which is inefficient because it’s being cycled up and down.
 3. The Transmission: Thousands of miles of wires to connect 100,000 tiny sites instead of one big one.
The result is a grid that is 3x more expensive, mathematically less reliable, and ecologically more invasive, all sold under the banner of "cheap and green." It isn't an engineering solution; it's a transfer of wealth from the taxpayer to the industrial complex that builds disposable machines.

Hello there! The "climate cooling" is big lie

climate change to small g gods living thousands of years is know as "weather" Its all a matter of perspective

Yall unless you don’t live in Minnesota or Colorado, you should know that coldness isn’t a problem. It’s fun.

Speaking of disposable machines, in our nearby town pursuing subsidies for disposable machines is a favorite pastime. They just acquired a brand-new half a million-dollar electric bus. I'm not sure what was wrong with the old one. It was about 4 years old so maybe it was just worn out, possibly defective, or maybe the paint was chipped. Regardless it's gone, and they have a new one.

I've often wondered how that pencils out. I've never ridden on it, but I know people who have. I asked her how much it costs to ride the bus, because I'm thinking it has to be at least 100 dollars per person given that often there are zero to maybe 3 people on it. I've never, ever, seen more than 8. To pay for a half million-dollar bus, the fare must be very high. It turns out she pays nothing. It's "free".

It's probably just me but I've come to be very skeptical of things that are "free". They usually turn out to be the most expensive, inefficient option possible.

There was an interesting article a couple years ago from heathealth. info. I believe they got a lot of their information from enbel-knowledge.eu. They listed all sorts of studies and sources about the effects of heat and cold. One of the findings claims that in 750 locations in 43 countries around the world, from 2000 to 2019 more than 5 million deaths were attributed to extreme temperatures.

They also found that from 732 locations around the world it's estimated that 37% of heat related deaths are due to human caused climate change. OK, seems like a lot. However, they also found that from 834 urban areas around Europe (also from 2000 to 2019) there were 20,000 excess heat related deaths AND about 200,000 excess cold related deaths. TEN times as many cold related deaths. Which means, there are more cold related deaths than ALL of the human caused climate change heat related deaths combined.

To your point about Colorado or Minnesota, the problem isn't limited to those two states. In North America the dangers of cold far outweigh the dangers of heat. Especially in states like Alaska, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Montana, Illinois, Maine, Vermont, New York, and almost all of Canada.

1,000-foot waves could devastate Gulf Coast cities — scientists issue urgent warning to 3 states

Scientists are warning that submarine landslide zones in the Gulf of Mexico could trigger devastating tsunamis along the coastlines of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Unlike the Pacific, the Gulf has no tsunami warning infrastructure — no deep-sea sensors and no alert system — leaving millions of coastal Americans with no protection against a threat that geoscience research increasingly confirms is real. The East Breaks landslide region off the Texas coast has been identified as a key risk zone. WooGlobe Ref : WGA720848

That article doesn't say exactly how urgent the situation is, but it was from a day ago. Those states may only have hours left. "Models suggest a tsunami could be devastating". I can't help but wonder if there are any models that suggest those states will NOT be wiped out soon.

You can hang outside in 95-100 degree weather all day as long as you take it easy, drink enough, don't over-exert or anything. But you lock yourself out of your house without a jacket at 2 degrees you'll die in minutes.

People that have the comforts of heat and air conditioning never realize that. They never think of just the heat and cold itself.

I doubt there is any serious scientific debate over which is worse, because humans (in order to live) have to have a warmer environment. To your point about somewhat extremes, I strongly encourage climate deniers to perform a very simple test. Average room temperature is about 70 degrees. So, if they would do as you suggested, experience 100 degree heat without doing anything, just wearing normal clothing, how long would they last just sitting there. Probably quite a few hours. However, the same cannot be said for 30 degrees cooler. At 40 degrees hypothermia would start setting in within minutes.

And without protection like proper clothing the differences are even more stark. How long would they last just sitting in a chair at 105 degrees with a swimsuit on? Half a day, probably more. Now sit in a chair outside wearing just a swimsuit when it's 35. After half an hour they would probably be in serious trouble.

Yes average "excessive heat" (90s..etc) is very easy to cope with. Average winter cold is dangerous. You lock yourself outside on a 95-97 degree day, sure it will suck, but nothings gonna happen to you sitting around waiting for the locksmith. You lock yourself out during an arctic blast/Polar vortex, it's gonna be a painful death over those couple hours. Better hope your neighbors are normal people and will let you in..

Rising oceans? 1995 and 2025

Avatar of EndgameEnthusiast2357

Florida was already supposed to be submerged 30+ years ago. They'll never stop moving the goal posts. This spring has also been one of the coolest ever (40s every night and not even hitting 60 during the day alot of days).

Like Endgame said, always moving the goalposts. It's not that oceans won't rise, they always have and always will. It's that they make outrageous claims, hoping to spark concern and fear.

Even when something doesn't come to pass (which is almost always) they simply repeat the claim, giving some excuse as to why it didn't happen this time. But it WILL, and when it does it will be really, really bad. Even worse than their original prediction.

It's a lot like the religious beliefs about the world ending. Someone always has a date, and a means by which it will happen. Then it doesn't. Then they have an excuse and set a new date. Their faith is unwavering. And moving the goalposts is their full-time job.
