Cold season don't arrive in our locality soon. I used to feel that it appears earlier 15 years ago

We should be praying for global warming. With our growing population, it would be nice to have more available land to farm.

Will the ice not melt at the poles raising sea levels and leaving less available land?

That is what they want you to believe. Look at any global sea level rise map, and look at how much land is lost. Then look at the available land from Canada north. There used to be trees at the poles, and the normal state for our planet throughout history is no polar ice caps. So many more people could grow food.

Look at where all of the money is concentrated. It is concentrated at the coastlines. It is not in their best interest for sea levels to rise, while the majority of everyone else would have better growing conditions.

Interesting points. But who are you referring to when you say 'what they want you to believe' and 'it is not in their best interest'? Aside from wealth along coastlines there are also various massive population centres. The flooding of these areas would cause absolute carnage and displace millions of people. Not that I'm saying if I switch my car to an electric it will make a blind bit of difference but still.

They, are global warming extremists. Their best interest, that is the people who live along the coastlines.

Look at the historical record. Man started settling down into communities around the end of the last ice age with farming and ranching starting somewhere around 10,000 years ago. Since then, the oceans have risen a few hundred feet. Humans have been moving inland, slowly, for ten thousand years. I would expect the pattern to continue, as it is the natural progression of coming out of an ice age.

Here's an interesting graph from xkcd.

I just had a thought, Elroch:  If global temperatures drop only 2-4 degrees, our entire planet will once again be a glacier covered giant snowball. Snowball earth cannot support but a fraction of our human population.

If the earth warms 2-4 degrees, coastal communities will have to move inland, but there will be a lot more inland upon which to live.

Global cooling would decimate the human population,  while the same change warmer would allow the earth to support a much larger population.

I’m not sure these are facts in dispute.

The pattern we can easily observe is that glaciers have been melting, oceans rising, and people being displaced inland for 10,000 years. When this trend stops and reverses, the majority of our civilizations will be decimated.

Global warming is real. It is the way it is supposed to be. It is the natural progression coming out of an ice age, and the easiest way to see we are not out of the ice age, we still have polar caps. Global warming: Imagine a world where trees grow all the way to both poles. Imagine the new lands for our growing population.

A 2 degree drop in temperature sends us into snowball earth, and a 2 degree increase gives us an entirely green earth.

Global warming extremists Donny want people to hear this information, because it is easy for them to research themselves.

Have you considered that as the poles warm up enough to sustain plant life the equatorial regions would become searing deserts?

The temperate zone broadens in a warmer earth scenario. Again, the gain exponentially outweighs the losses. It’s been happening to us for well over 10,000 years now, so why all of a sudden do people have a problem with migration away from the coastlines?  You do realize there are cities all over the world that are under water from rising oceans. This isn’t new. What is new is extremists saying it is new.

If this scenario plays out and certain regions become uninhabitable whilst others become significantly more habitable there is going to have to be a seismic shift in attitudes toward migrants accross the globe. The trend at present would seem to be toward tighter borders.

People have always been migrating, and they always will. Walls and laws only last so long. People are trying to fight something that is as natural as sex.
