Because Chess is much more fun
if you look at the endgame there are more optionss for squares

I think there are actually more combinations for chess because I like chess lol
The theoretical amount of positions on a board of 64 squares with 7 possible states per square is smaller than the theoretical amount of positions on a board of 361 intersections with 3 possible states per intersection
