Hail to every local police department in the Country.

If I win the lottery I will give to the local police ballot.

I am leaving for now, but will return soon.

He can’t simply “Unclose” his account, and according to his behavior which I’ve reported I don’t see them rejoicing his return. (It’s also banned to have more than 1 account)

"in the Country"...but you don't even have a country flag? The International flag doesn't specify anything to us!

I am all for protecting the citizens and protecting the peace, but this means what makes everyone safest long-term and sadly, not every single police department in the world does this. Many governments are corrupt. Many police forces use unnecessary brutality, or injustice. The world can be an unfair place.

Generally speaking, I believe most police departments do their job well and deserve our gratitude for protecting the citizens. However, it isn't correct to make a blanket generalization about "every local police department" in the world and blindly believe they will always do what is right. The police force(s) are human like we are and humans are not perfect; we all make mistakes. Just because they have a badge and government authority, this does not give them a "free pass" to do whatever they feel like and blatantly break the very law they are sworn to uphold.

Actually you can "unclose" an account if they closed it for inactivity like they have done. The account automatically re-opens when they choose to log back in. It is only accounts closed for things like violating Fair Play or Abuse that are usually closed for good.

As for multiple accounts, they are allowed if you get permission from chess.com staff first. chess.com used to be a lot more strict about giving out multiple accounts, but just a few months ago, chess.com loosened up their criterion and now many members have a second account for chatting or whatever else.

Personally, I find that it is easier to have everything on my account (where everything is all together in one place), but that is just me and I find it okay if others want multiple accounts as long as they are pre-approved by chess.com staff.

He still might get in trouble (look at his “Is Santa still alive” thread).

I didn't see this thread until now. Perhaps a bit argument-inducing, but I don't know if this thread alone is "bannable" - probably not from the glance I saw at it, but maybe the chess.com mods/staff are keeping an eye on it if does turn out of hand...

I also tried logging into a closed account. Doesn’t work

I don't know the details of it because I've never had my account closed, but a friend of mine closed their own account this same way and were able to re-open it again. I know it is possible if you close it for inactivity and wasn't for some offense etc.

I closed it optionally. Wasn’t for abuse

Maybe your friend got permission from chess.com

They probably did.
