This is mostly for people from America but if you want to help celebrate, it's a free country(at least from where I'm posting this). May hamburgers and apple pie grace your stomachs! wink

Now for the funny rundown of "American" food items for the day:

- Hamburgers are German (Hamburg, Germany)

- Hotdogs also German (think Bratwursts)

- Apple Pie very well might be "American", but this would be difficult to prove as Apples are native to Asia as well and pies are English

Interestingly enough, despite Hamburgers being German, "Cheese Burgers" are in fact "American." Who would have thought? No German thought to melt cheese into their hamburger?

Anyhow, what makes these things really "American" for the 4th of July isn't so much where the food originated from, but the cultures and traditions of enjoying food like this with another in celebration happy.png

I'll be celebrating mentally, but my big meal for the day will be a big Cobb salad!

"Indepedence day" sounds wayy better than "Revolution day"

So in France we are just celebrating the death of the absolute monarchy with lot of blood. Yay.

I believe French independence day is called Bastille Day, from when French people stormed the Bastille to get ammo but their was none so they tore it down brick by brick, correct me if I am wrong Mattew, but just a little history for you.

#8 they wanted to attack the Bastille to get ammo and canons, but then realised they also attacked the french absolute monarchy, so the revolution people called that a big moment of french history

I'm also familiar with Bastille Day and its history (despite never visiting France), but right now I can't stop thinking of the Rush song by the same title xD
