Have you ever had a thread you were staying away from but wanted to post in it..

...because someone said something off-beat, but you didn't want to post there because you didn't want to give the thread credibility?

It happens to me sometimes, and I consider sending a PM, leaving it alone, or starting a new thread....

Most of the time I leave it alone, and I didn't think the post merited a PM.

So here we are.

No, it's not only feeding a troll that I refer to. There are some honest folks on chess.com who create threads that I consider to be stupid, and I just don't regard the thread highly enough.

There are some threads that are good but contain posts from honest members who say something I think stupid, and I don't want to derail the thread pointing it out.

It doesn't just have to be trolls.
