Today is my birthday,..I'm 65.  I've decided to cancel all of my future birthdays because I'm getting too old. I want to stay here for the rest of my life...

Welcome to Medicare!  Make sure you sign up for Part A (no cost) - at the very least.  Part B has a premium, but it covers things like doctors office visits, lab tests, etc.  Remember Medicare only pays 80% of charges.  So a Medicare Advantage plan may be worthwhile.

After age 40 I only "celebrated" birthdays ending in 0 or 5!

I always round my age to the nearest 0 or 5, so I've been 60 for about 4 years now. I'll be "65" in two years and until about 2028. This is, of course, if I'm still at large...

Hahahaha love this.. rounding ages to the nearest 0 or 5. Three weeks ago I could have chosen 50 or 55, unfortunately after a recent birthday (which I intentionally kept quiet about and dropped off the radar) I'm now nearer the 55 mark 😕

A very happy belated birthday Ron, we almost shared birthdays, mine was 11 days before yours (9th).

---   Hey that reminds me of the late great Jack Benny who seemed to be stuck at age 39 for a lot of years ( yup a name for the other old-timers  lol ).

But look at the positive side: you can be 55 now until you turn actual 58, when you become 60 for the next 5 years.

True.. I actually lost count how many years my mum stayed at aged 48, even into her late 50's.

I was looking at the thread title, but noticed that the last few pages were a bunch of elderly people being nice to each other...surprise.png   lol.

Avatar of Retired_Workaholic

Likely because we've all been here a long time together and all get along well. happy.png

Its good to see you again,...I hope things are going well..?

I love my new place...settling in just fine.  I just learnt yesterday that they can put you to sleep for cataracts....like a colonoscopy.  I can deal with that a lot better then seeing someone come at your eye with a scalpel. shock.png

Avatar of Retired_Workaholic

Believe me, it's certainly not pleasant seeing a needle about to be stuck into my eyeballs every 4 weeks either. Thankfully they're every few months now, but I'd rather a needle than scalpel.. I'd be outta there so fast!!

Things are going better, except for flu twice in the same month. First time was a side effect of a flu shot, 2nd one, I turned out to be the 1 in 10 who got the common side effect of flu symptoms from anti inflammatories of all things. Luckily both only last about 7 days, otherwise all good 🤞🤞
