phonk is infinitely worse, especially gym phonk. It's so stupid.
Pop is a wide genre, when most people say it sucks they refer to modern mainstream pop, which indeed is horrible. However keep in mind that the beatles are considered pop, and there are many different kinds of pop out there. Saying "I hate pop" is such a blanket statement.

Country sucks too, it however may not be more widely hated than pop, depends on the crowd. I know I'd rather stomach pop than country.
