I think there’s more then two because I’m the socks you can see very small holes but when you mean general socks 2 . My socks has 3 holes because of my toe (cap)

If you keep the holes between separate strands of fabric aside, it would have 0 holes since a hole has an opening and an end, the "hole" in the sock is technically a pit, which is different from a hole.

Well we don't have a structured definition for a hole, so it can be used interchangeably sometimes.
