Switch to Catholicism, brum, we take it easy.
I am an anti-theist
2. I'm a chrsitain. I, and every other Christian I know often criticise and think about what they believe in- is it true?
I personally think it is, but I'm not sure- at all. So I am fine living my life, as I have a hope for what comes after, and I don't have to fear. And yes, I've taken the choice to believe what may just be a fantasy, as it makes myself happy, and, should it be true, will save my soul for thousands of years.
Hypocritical, much?
Religious people tell their children that all non believers worship satan?!?!?!?!?? Never heard of that in my LIFE. I want a credible source to say that most religious people in modern, civilised (mainly western, as religion is open here) tell their children this. Ridicules.
"(1st paragraph) Religion is seriously like that"
Nope. In a catholic school I learnt that the sky is blue (I can't remember exactly) is because something about the blackness of space, but the sun lights that up to blue? (Okay, we didn't get taught that in school, but I imagine it is just the sun or the atmosphere or something. I've never been good at science. And I can't remember a thing from school)
And about the rain? Nope.
Because of depressions, and the water cycle, and all that stuff.

I am open minded. I said that it is okay to say that there may or may not be a god. But religions claim that there definitely is a god and so are not open minded.

"The universe is simple, and so invoking a complex god to create it is completely illogical."
Browntown...the universe is so not simple, according to your rating not even chess is simple.

God bless all atheists.
hahaha...that is funny because you said god bless them, but they don't believe in god but you kinda say you do and you feel sorry for them so god should bless them....actually it is not that funny.
I will give you 3/10 for this effort.

Please do not strain your singular brain cell over this.
This is no way to talk to the OP, he has an IQ of 154.

Most none athiests have a belief in something but are not sure exactly what, which is fine, whereas religions claim to know all the details and teach it as fact which is nonesense.

Let me begin with why I believe religion is bad, an then I will go onto how we can combat it.
Religion teaches us to not question. Why is the sky blue? Because the invisible man in the sky wanted it to be. Why did it rain today? Because the invisible man in the sky wanted it to.
It's seriously like that. Not to mention the fact that the God Hypothesis has several logical fallacies, the main one is explained below:
- In order to explain the origin of the universe, you invoked the God Hypothesis. This claims that the universe was created by a God. Great. You have successfully dodged the question of the origin of the uni... No. You haven't. You merely deflected the question and altered it slightly. It now becomes a question on the origin of God. Of course, you could say that God has always existed. But then God is more complex than the universe you are using him to explain the origin of. The universe is simple, and so invoking a complex god to create it is completely illogical. It's like learning to run before you learn to crawl.
Also, the sheer number of religions make it severely unlikely that any particular one is correct. The probability of any one religion being the correct one is probably negligible.
Then there is the lack of evidence. Of course, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, but you would expect there to be some evidence. And if there isn't, you should keep an open mind. That means saying that there may or may not be a god This does not mean that religion is correct, because religion claims that there definitely is a god. This is not open minded
Now we move onto how religion spreads. It is taught to children. The children are taught to not question it, or feel the wrath of god. They are bullied. Then they grow up scared of god, and they believe what their parents tell them. They then pass on this religion to their children, and so on. As time goes on, the popularity of the religion increases. To avoid anyone losing faith in their religion, they claim that non-believers worship satan or some other BS.
The above message is simple. The children are told the 'answers'. They are told not to question these answers.
There is only one way to combat religion and that is with science. Science is the process by which mankind's knowledge is questioned. Nothing is known for certain. You look at both sides of the argument, and make a logical prediction. You then use experiment to test this prediction.
Teach science, not religion. Or if you do teach religion, teach all of them equally, so as to let the children decide. But don't give them answers. Teach them how to find the answers themselves, teach them how to be open minded, and teach them how to do science.
