#84 I have edited it.
Thank you.
Now I will repeat:
- I was not being smug.
- (i) from a seperate comment, India is not a reflection on education globally. It seems you think it is.
-(ii) from your comments I think your issue is with parents and only those you know, regardless of
-(iii)so called research by others
(i) I have acknowledged again and again that I'm only talking about my country, the original comment which started this discussion was in reference to my friends who are, in fact, Indian. If you wish to discuss the global situation then I'm not against doing research on that.
(ii) No, my issue is not with parents in general, it is with parents who do not do research on a certain tuition or how effective it would be for their children before admitting them. And I have drawn my inference on these parent's mentality because I don't see any other reason why such institutes will be popular rather that (technically) misled parents OR parents that do not their research, if you have any other suggestions on why it is so, do state them.
(iii) The research site I linked was a rebuttal to your claim that internet is the main cause of depression in teenagers.
1. Okay
2. When you become a parent you will have a vastly different opinion on what parents should or can do.
3. There are many "research sites" to choose from. It is, in all the research I have seen, widely accepted that, in recent years, excessive internet use by young people is the cause of social deprivation, lack of physical activities, obesity, generally poor physical health, and depression.
It has also been documented as a contributor to suicides and school shootings.
Nowhere, has excessive school work been identified as such. Not even in your linked study. You say you are just talking about India but still you are generalizing even in the above comment. (iii)
