Has my absence been too long? I didn't realize there was a limit...

I agree Ghostliner.  Some people would begrudge the poorest people of anything.  WiFi can hardly be considered a luxury item, especially with children in the house.  Schoolchildren need Wifi to do their homework these days so maybe 17riley would like to elaborate?  Or maybe not.

I sometimes wonder what kind of lives some people lead to display such terrible attitudes to those suffering the worst from the avarice of those on top.  They still blame the poor for being poor and excuse the extremists at the helm.

I was making a satirical social statement. Many people in developed countries rely far too much on WiFi.

Avatar of Firstplay

Fair enough, but it sounded like the quip that Billy Connolly made about a wealthy woman remarking that a homeless man was smoking a cigarette.  WiFi is the accepted method of communication across the world these days.

Back in my day the only long distance communication was a pigeon carrier.

Unbelievable ne'er do well posting here.. Mump, moan whine...Everybody's fault except your own. Let the state look after you from cradle to grave.. Like it or not, the Conservative party were democratically elected by a majority of people in the United Kingdom. Perhaps you should move to Scotland, where their people saw through those bastards years ago... More pandas up there than Tory M.P.'s...The people have spoken. Live with it!

Oooh, sick burn.

Laughing Well said from a true Blue, keep it coming as we rarely see the true face of Toryism, they normally pretend that they're reasonable people so full marks for honesty.  It's a pity that more of your ilk aren't so candid.  Gloves off, snarling, greed and lack of emotions that the majority of decent human beings live by.

I haven't seen moaning.  I've seen reasoned arguments here by opponents of Tory/fascist ideology only answered by sneering comments like your own.  It's true that the Tories are in power but only because most people don't vote. The same reason that the fascists look so good electorally in France, because there's no ideological differences between the Tories and Blairite Labour.

Thanks for your kind comments.  I live on the breadline (and savings) these days due to current Tory ideology after a lifetime of working my nuts off.  I can only assume that you do ok and so care little about others,  Very revealing, very selfish.  I'm ok Jack?  Just remember that if your crew treat people so badly, so uncaring; don't expect any sympathy when the tables turn.

For gawwds' sake man, I am being sarcastic about the whole situation because I am sick and tired of tories being elected. People can vote them out rather than going on protest marches. Voting should be compulsory in this country, as it is in Australia. Sorry you are down on your luck at the moment... I used to vote Labour, then Tony Blair came along. Seasons greetings.

Smile Well you do a good imitation for one of those fu++ers!!  I'm sure that there's millions like us, former Labour voters sickened by ultra-right policies, with media spin to make the war criminal look and sound normal.  Lets hope Corbyn can make some difference to UK politics.  Some hope for decency at least.

Thanks for the kind comments Flight, it's crap being poor and I don't like it but consider myself very lucky compared to the millions in this country who struggle to exist amidst absolute wealth.  We don't choose our fathers, or where we're born, and those of us not in war zones should count our blessings that nobody is dropping bombs on us.  That doesn't mean we should sit back and accept current ideology though.  Silence by the majority is interpretted as consent and acceptance by those in power.

Well said First. The legacy of Blair, Brown, Straw, and in Scotland, Jim Murphy, will haunt the Labour Party for generations. Let's hope Chilcot exposes the charlatans for what they are.

Avatar of Firstplay

I agree, but not holding my breath for the inquiry results.  They'll probably wait another ten years and then tell us that Blair isn't well enough to stand trial, like all the high profile paedophiles currently evading prosecution.

Heard Janner just died.

No sympathy for monsters.

Avatar of Flight11

True, but shame for his accusers not to have their day in court. This was put on the back burner for years.

Avatar of Firstplay

Yep, they were denied justice.  Quite a few of em evade justice by dying, Robert McCalpine, Leon Brittain, Saville.  Notice how many of em are 'Lords' or 'Sirs'?  I hope others are noticing that so may of these monsters are near, or part, of the ruling class, the establishment that demands trust and obedience.  It all seems to be pointing to the top.

Lest we forget Michael Jackson.

Thanks for that. Nice to see that you equate the 'lower' classes with animals.

I have the highest regard for all animals, including humans.

Rolf Harris still has an extra leg though.

..and btw, we shouldn't forget who it is who subsidises the pigs shown above.  They pay little or no tax, and many contribute absolutely nothing.

The top 25% of earners pay 75% of the national take in income tax. Increase that if you wish but your overall takewill go down.

The current government are devoid of anyone who could be called a statesman, and they have little vision, but they do understand that a succesful economy is the only way to generate more money/tax take within it. New Labour realised this under Tony Blair.

Labour's future under JC of increased public handouts/higher taxation will result in those capable of creating wealth moving away, leaving a country unable to balance its books. You will see real poverty then.

But I suspect that is what some posters would like to see, because you dont care a toss about the working man or the poor, all you care about is your nihilism and a wish for a revolution.
