Well, true. But their cricket team is still going, and they've got some fine players (Afghanistan).
10 countries. But some countries failed to qualify in the lead up games, such as the West Indies who won the first 2 Titles in 1975 and 1979, but not since then.

I’m probably gonna support the Netherlands.
Every country plays each other over the next 5 weeks, and the 4 with the most wins qualify for the Semis. 1st game - England v New Zealand. The Kiwis are cruising at the moment.
New Zealand, without their captain and best player, absolutely thrashed England in the opening match. The Poms did create one record, however - all their batsmen made double figures - the first time that has happened in 4658 One Day International matches.

Pakistan easily beat the Netherlands, while Afghanistan lost 4/6 at the end and collapsed against Bangladesh.
@AussieMatey you should put New Zealand at 3 and India at 4. Indian players literally shake when they are against Kiwis in the semi finals.
South Africa is absolutely pummelling Sri Lanka - 2/245 after 35 overs - they might get 400.

Looks like, after 45 matches, the semi-finalists will come from any of the Top 7, but as we all know, 7 into 4 does not go. No disrespect to the Netherlands who will be bowling tulips, Afghanistan won't be bowling hand grenades, and for The Bangles - Bangladesh, it'll be just another Manic Oneday.
