If 2x=4x

Sort:
One_Zeroth

Then x must be equal to;

0, infinity x, Or x/infinity or even x/0. Where x is any complex number!

So... are you going to take an actual math class one of these days?

You seem to have an interest, so why not do it?

Well Sir, I got to what I know about "Indeterminate Forms" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indeterminate_form

that can be evaluated by L Hopital's Rule https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/L'H%C3%B4pital's_rule

From a College book some one purchased for me. I just did not have or need to, have a professor translate it.

One_Zeroth

They purchased the book for me when I was a minor. But am not anymore.

I don't think x/0 will be an answer

The answer is 0. 2 times is infinity is less than 4 times infinity.

Lol where did you get an answer from. It's a equation not an expression.

And you don't have to take college classes these days... for example the youtuber mathologer
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1_uAIS3r8Vu6JjXWvastJg

has lots of interesting videos. Many of them start out simple, but as the video goes on it gets harder and harder. Someone interested in math could follow a channel like that, and write down a list of questions / unknown terms as they watch, and look into them on their own... I mean, not only would the person learn from the videos, but they'd also develop interesting questions to go learn even more on their own.

If I did that I'd learn a lot too... he often goes beyond things I understand, but the videos are still fun for me.

There are also sites like this
https://math.libretexts.org/Bookshelves

With an enormous emount of informatoin for free.

Sure I'd check it out (even though I'm not in college yet lol)

SriyoTheGreat

Thanks @llama_l ! Just checked the video and did not understand a single thing. So I have a long way to go. I do pretty good at school but curious me likes to learn new things. I'm not that into math as I am hoping for careers in chemistry, but keeping physics a safe second option, math is pretty important. So yeah thanks for the tips happy.png.

"For kids in school, a good tip is that math is unlike other classes because it's more like a video game or a sport... in other words it's the only class you have to practice. In history class you can memorize, but in math class you have to practice."

If you can't understand my simple simple Maths. Then there is no need to practice anything else.

#8 it does not make sense it 0.2 times infinity is same thing as 4 times infinite because infinite never ends

4 goes into infinity, infinity times. 2 goes into infinity, infinity times. That should make sense

"I've had ~20 credit hours of college math classes"

Only 20???

Take another 20 because you don't know what you're saying.

Do you need an English Professor to explain a Novel or other sort of book to you?? It does really help but is not necessary, if you have any Brains.

Stack the Blocks together. And with a Professor, even moreso.

SriyoTheGreat

Everything gets confusing as soon as you involve infinity.

"So in a video game, if you fail the first level, it doesn't matter right? You just learn from your mistake and try again... maybe you fail in a different way, but that's ok, you learn from it and try again."

Assimilate the rules of Math. Then you should never fault.

What you're posting is quite drivel, Sir.

Yep 1/0=2/0=-1/0=-2/0

For instance.

Because (1/0)*(-1) still equals just 1/0.

SriyoTheGreat

x/0 itself doesn't exist

One_Zeroth

0/0 is any finite number. 1/0 is any complex infinity.

Please tell me why you even posted that.

Because that is what I learnt in school?

"learnt"

Not funny. Uncalled for.

SriyoTheGreat

ok so what can I do, show security camera footage of my teacher saying it?

For example this person gives roughly the same advice.

Yeah I watch random math stuff online... meanwhile it seems you only spam about infinity * x on a chess forum... the same topic over and over... and over and over and over

This is Bullchit, Yuppie wannabe.

Quite showing off your non friends, and reiterate what she was saying in a few sentences.
