If We Could Get Some Adults In The Forums That'd Be Great

Been here about one year now. I can see the difference in just this year. It mirrors the change in society and how decency has been lost.

That’s disgusting. What a bunch of losers. Lol! I mean, chess.stackexchange.com is better, though I don’t use it. I sometimes just google a question and it comes up.

If we had some moderators who were willing to enforce the posting rules and remove the pointless crap from all the kids, then there might be some room for adult (or at least mature) posters here.

Don't blame the moderators.  Mods take their cue directly from administrators.  The current policy seems to be to lock threads about cheating and remove personal attacks that reach a certain level of inappropriateness.   Pretty much anything else goes.  It seems they want the forums to be all about numbers and hits with quality not even in the running.   I blame the Community Manager-- or Mismanager in this case.

Stackexchange and the official reddit r/chess have more serious discussions and better moderation. And people on stack learn pretty quickly what to post and what to keep to themselves.

Yes, that seems to be the case.

We could, but then they would just engage in arguments about recurring topics with recurring arguments while being drunk. Topics like "Is chess a sport or a game?"

- repeated topics

- drunk adults

- narcissist adults

- U r racist!  No u.

- spammy kids

- kids with toilet humor

- trolls

- recurring topics

- closing my account / I am back

- Rick roll

- some drama

- brilliant moves (I decided to follow this trend recently 'cause I needed to brag to feel good about pathetic self)

Here we go. Chess.com forums.

Oh! Have I forgotten to advertise my club? Yes, posting irrelevant advertisement of my club in any topic is a must!

What didcha say against me ... uhm, I mean against drunk adults??! They're the salt of the earth of this measly congregation of nerds and candya$$es! I swear, boy, once I get rid of this damn headache I'm gonna hack into your account and *burp* and then ... well, then I will probably head to the corner shop and buy some more booze. You just wait and see!

I’m a kid, and I agree with this

Lord_Hammer

Exactly.

Kids have completely ruined the forums to the point that I almost never post here anymore, or on any place other than my groups. This site has also been catered much more to kids, and chess.com does nothing about the nonsense they post. If they cant be mature enough, they should be on Chesskids, not here. Whats the point of Chesskids if all the kids are on this site??

Trouble is, most of the adults, the clever, more intelligent posters have left or have been banned by the mods, so the kids have taken over with their vapid threads. The adults got fed up with the censoring and constant muting. It almost seems like chess.com wants to keep it stupid on the forums.

I dont think its that they have been banned. More like most good posters have either left the site or stopped posting on the forums because of this.

LegendaryWarrior1994

How old are we talking about here? I'm 27 if that is any consolation.

Yes, many of them have left the site or just avoid the forums out of frustration, but a few of the most entertaining posters were muted for many different reasons.  They closed their accounts and left. That's why you can't find their threads or postings anymore.

Why is the poster a child?

My favourite is when they say "I'm not a kid, how dare you, I'm 14!"

But yeah, some kids are fine, B1ZMARK for example.
