The knowledge (its been a while) of the "site map" at the bottom of the game page (while playing a game)! This is what a new comer to chess.com would be looking for!! Click on the words "site map" = get busy!!

You can enter a short information message (e.g. "I am on holiday until Thursday") that will be displayed on your profile page and also when you are on vacation.

2) Yeah that should be a little self explanitory; just sort of look around and click on links to see what happens, there is nothing that will make your eyes bleed on this site.

So, just click on everything, then, learn what's real. *If joining a tournament, know where the "Withdraw" button is... this seems to be a big issue for new members who change their minds about continuing in a tournament they do not like.
