Is checkers solved or not?

So you read all over the internet that checkers is weakly solved and that perfect play results in a draw. Yet when it comes to reading a paper on this with the proof presented, there’s nothing to be found. Also, you would think you would be able to play the engine that solved it, since this was done around 15 or more years ago so the hardware is much better now, yet you can’t seem to do that either. Is it a myth?

It’s solved, if played perfectly, the both players can draw.

"The ancient game of checkers (or draughts) has been pronounced dead. The game was killed by the publication of a mathematical proof showing that draughts always results in a draw when neither player makes a mistake. For computer-game aficionados, the game is now “solved”."
