Is Satan invented?
Oh Chaste. read the thread. I did answer. It was to Nikprit. Calm down man. and Ghostliners first response was right on. Thanks Ghostliner. Ghostliner, all this is is a personal attack towards me from Chaste because of what I believe;but Chaste has every right to speak his mind on anything and everything. Yea...that makes real sense.
Sorry Mexi but I think you are confused. No answer to my question on how a father could consider redemption earned for torturing his son. I know, it's an absolutely silly proposition but I didn't make it up.
I apologize for making it sound so personal towards you. It's really directed at the system that has brainwashed you and so many other people in the world. And of course not just christianity. The whole idea that the highest reward for blowing up women and children is the privilege of having sex with 72 virgins is born of the same unreasoning thinking. What insane hypocrisy when the same people who believe such things stone women for exposing their flesh in public.
All of you magical thinkers are taking the rest of us down. Think Ted Cruz.
Mexi states his beliefs but I can't say I've ever noticed him proselytise (there is a difference); correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this what you're doing?
Ghostliner, I don't have time or inclination to go around collecting a robust sampling of Mexi's proselytizing but this is a taste of it.
I believe This. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. I believe this.
John 3:16. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosever believers in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Spouting bible gibberish with the implied assumption that since it comes from the bible it is indisputable is proselytizing. It is especially offensive when they fail to provided responses when questioned about logical absurdities in what they assert. It's like attending a funeral then having to be preached at as if everyone paying their respects to the deceased is a believer in the same myth that the preacher is going on about. No I don't proselytize, believe what you want just keep it to yourself unless someone asks.
I'm essentially an atheist as well, while I understand the sentiment I'm deeply uncomfortable with the approach. We can argue and debate, that's all good, but let's keep it civil.
No personal attacks please.
thats patriachal religions for you scared of women , sad isnt it , women are the bearers of life and without them we wouldnt exist let alone create religions
Well well my both friends, just remember prophets : Jeremiah. Very depressive, and the point it was auto realized. many people use prophecies to justify their own pulsions. A famous prophet is today making noise, it is an haegemonia hunting the preceeding.
So in the course of the Time, Cronos eats his own children.
cronos myth is a death rebirth one , his son zeus forced his way out of his father cronos ,
im pretty sure thats right ages since i was interested in greek mythos
Nikprit...look at the pentagram closer. It's pointed downward. an inverted star. Kind of like the upside down cross.

I am looking & I can't see it Mex, an inverted star - yes. But I will keep looking.
I am pointing towards the adoption of the same symbol used by different religions here.

God sent His Son to die for our sins. yes. the ultimate sacrifice of love towards us. Not torture...sacrifice.. this also fulfilled the prophecy from the old testament. Why did this happen? WE rejected God. The One who created us, we rejected Him. The bible states, God created evil...why? The bible also states there some things that are beyond our understanding. Personally, along with some scriptures, It's to glorify God in all things. God is in control. I do know this to be true because I have put my trust in God and He has answered my personal prayers at times. He has opened my eyes and I see the difference. I also am still human and make mistakes all the time. The bible says to "confess your sins daily". because we sin all the time. even in our thoughts. But the beauty of this is, we can strive for perfection...have a "relationship" and overcome evil with the power of the Holy Spirit. I have felt it. It is amazing. humbling. sombering, yet full of joy, peace, and happiness. The bible teaches us how to live a happy life! How to overcome problems, suffering, turmoil, pride, and evil.
Honestly, think of the movie the matrix. What pill are you going to take? the red one or the blue one? I would correalate that with salvation. sure.
Ted Cruz....I don't know Ted Cruz, but I do know I love that being a Christian, I can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through His word and through prayer. Not worry about a religion and its man made rules. That Is why I told Tom in his thread waaaaay in the beginning, Christianity is more of a relationship than a religion. God speaks to us through the word of God, we can speak to Him through prayer. I'm explaining this because you said you are offended. I don't want to offend you and in that other thread, "what are we", I answered the best I could with scripture verses to show that the bible does have answers. I could do the same here, however, the OP politely explained to me what this thread was about.
I know in every race, every "religion", every sport, every occupation, there are those bad seeds that make it look bad for everyone who is a part of it. We are all individuals though. I know true christianity, there is peace. There is humility, there is love. I’ve seen it through people I am close to and those who I am not. How can this be damaging to our world that we live in? How? Proof? My proof is all around us. The earth, the air, the sky. The bible says it to be so. Yea, so I have faith too. Everyone has faith in something. And Chastity, what proof do you have that there is NO God?
I hope this answered your question.

Sorry, I think I said it wrong. yes, it's inverted..upside down.. like in some occults the upside down cross.

Well my eyes feel less strained now
I hope this answered your question.
Your answer makes no sense whatsoever but thanks for trying.
What was it again that made doG consider it a redemptive act by the humans who it otherwise couldn't bring itself to forgive, and thereby forgiven when they tortured its son?
The logic of that escapes me.

MAN. All I had to write was one line? I will remember that next time.
...and can you explain to me your question here?
He payed the penalty for us,because we are unable to pay for ourselves, but justice required the punishment to be served. That's also why we can't enter Heaven on our own merit. Heaven is like a real cool celebrity party, but we are stopped at the door. For some of us,Jesus steps forward and says:"It's OK he's my friend.",the we get in.Or he may say:"I never knew you.",then you you're stuck out in the cold.

Only according to the Christian belief system. Every religion has it's elitist system. Which means that the Jewish. Islamic, Hindu etc version says something similar. ONLY their system can promise that you will not be left out in the cold. Rather bizarre rendition of what you believe is an all compassionate God.
So let me ask you this, by that logic, I am a 4 year old Hindu child who was born in India, never had a chance to hear the Christian faith at all, I get knocked down by a bus. Killed stone dead, and therefore I am going straight to hell because Jesus was not my friend?
Come on give me a break please.
Since you are under the age of reason, you are only guilty of original sin.If you were baptized,no problem you are in.If not you go to Limbo, which like purgatory is a part of Heaven,so eventually you will gain admittance after a time of purification.
So Hindu's, Muslims & any other religion need to adopt Christ as their friend via purification before they are accepted? Otherwise they go into Limbo & undergo a deprogramming from their own faith in order to accept your faith in order to be saved? Is that what you are saying? Unless they are baptised of course, which automatically entitles them to free entry, despite the fact they may have been a terrible person. But the baptism (a symbolic act by the way) nevertheless grants them admission? Am I following you correctly?
