Before, I read some comments that asserted death is the meaning of life.
Well, I don't think that's true. And it's not the purpose of life either. Why?
In first place, there are some immortal species on our planet, like the famous immortal jellyfish from the caribbean that we pirates know very well. Here there is a link:

And that's not the only immortal living being on our planet.
And, on the other hand, death is just a characteristic of life, something required for life to be possible. But that doesn't mean it's the meaning or purpose of life.

ok, my cat just woke me up, and I'm still not surrounded by pirate gold. So, I'll be the first to post my meaning of chess (life):
My name is p8q, which means the pawn gets to the 8th rank and becomes a Queen. So, in life we are a pawn crawling and fighting with a lot of dangers along the path just to get the the 8th rank, and when we get there we become a beautiful big Queen (in my case a King would be more appropiate) to win the match of life and the universe. To become a Queen could it mean reencarnation? I don't know. Could it be reach Nirvana? I don't know. I'll keep thinking about this for years, probably...
