I don't know enough about psychology to start throwing out any good psychological theories about it, Pelly. But I definitely agree that the 'man as woman' thing and the sock puppet are interconnected. I actually agree with what kco said, ask an expert like johnmusascha. He does that stuff all-the-time. I'm sure it would be an ego-boost for him, because he just doesn't seem to care if people know about him. He likes movies, so maybe he considers himself an Internet actor? It could be creepier than that, I don't know? There is, of course, men luring girls/women into a darker place than merely sowing distrust in an Internet community. That is certainly the creepier place which fake females could be motivated by. Starting to talk to them to gain their trust, meeting them in real life then who knows? It is ALWAYS the safest way to be on the Internet for us to not get too involved with people even though those things probably don't happen often. I don't know the statistics? I think when I was younger that I probably would have been naive enough to not be so cautious. 

So I don't really know the motivation in psychological terms? But it's weird, for sure

Ok ok ok ... my two pennies worth... you have derailed your own thread here Pelly. You have suggested to us that nobody has the qualifications to speak on this subject or have an opinion without first having a psychology degree.

Hmmmm psychology... Psychoanalysts, psychiatrists, psycho-babbleists! I see nothing that has happened in the 'psychology' sciences that convinces me that it is anything but pseudoscience propaganda. I see more people being told they're 'depressed' or have anxiety and I see a few on screen quacks telling me a mass murderer only did it because someone took his teddy away when he was 3.

Common sense eating and intake and a healthy body is the answer to a healthy mind. Today's problems and troubles can be dealt with easier if a person is healthy. We all do craaaazy things from time to time. Nobody can explain why people do what they do other than the person who is doing it. I'm sorry I have a little less faith in the 'experts' of my own mind than you do Pelly.

You should be asking anyone to contribute to your thread. Unban and let the trolls and sock puppets speak for themselves...

We are all psychologists and we all might have an idea about this matter.

Since most of you decided to troll and ridicule this thread I thought it was more usefull to ask someone more serious.

The few clowns that got muffled were banned for only 1 hour , like I told them.

Everybody is free to post what they want , but I (me) really like to hear peoples opinion about the "mind of the beast".

There have been a kazillion of threads about the matter of gender-pretention and multi accounts. I hoped my thread could give us handles to deal effectively with them.

I think there are two types of people on here. There is the one that is who they say they are. You can see their personality, it's usually open and fair, they admit when they're wrong. They may not always be confident speakers or they may babble on about a subject close to their heart. But you can 'see' who they are from their manner and tone.

Then... there's the troll/sock puppet/false persona ... they are antagonistic and loike to shock. They have an opinion on everything and have done so much and have experience in a wide range of topics. They make outrageous claims. Some appear intellectual, some don't bother with the intellect, they just attack.

The one thing they have in common is that they don't have much of a personality. You don't get to see them just 'talking'. They talk 'at' people.

My opinion as to why they do it is that their own life is 'missing' something. Maybe they don't have anyone that listens to them at home, no friends maybe or close family, they're lonely and isolated. They don't like their own self and want to invent a new 'Me'... perhaps the mild-mannered just want to discover what it's like to be aggressive? Maybe it's like a drug and it gives them a thrill to attack someone on here? Who knows. I came on here because I had a lot of lonely time to myself... Particularly being an insomniac. We all have our reasons ... I tried to hide my personality at first but it's hard over time. I think we can all gauge a person over time from their keyboard rumblings. See, now you all know what a soft cow I am.

I'm going to add too, that people in the community have to figure out a way to not make their focus be the sock puppet/faker peeps. Kco is a good example of a person who has become so focused on them that that's all he writes about. The community needs "real people'. Sincerity is always appreciated by the real people in the community. It's taking advantage of the joy of the Internet--reading real people who have the time to reflect, organize and edit their thoughts, from all over the world!
