yeah I like you. I am a figament of my own imagination. Sweet. And when we are mindful we see just reality I guess rather than an us.

I can't agree love is a response to stimuli.

Have you looked within? I find that there is love there without an object to that love.

You are a figment of your own imagination. Chess exists in Samsara. Love a response to stimuli. In its natural state, the mind is calm and does not feel love or any other emotion. Chess can be meditation.

By definition, chess cannot be meditation.  It can be concentration which is not meditation.  True meditation has no mental activity.

What is the point of what?

Xming 90.
And yet people say to mediate is to chant right ? Isn't that involving a mental activity no?

Well absolutely no thought.

I mean what use is no thought . That's like being dead no ?

I can find peace through mindfulness . Also I find I accept my life and myself when I'm mindful because I see reality clearly and I'm naturally loving.

I just can't particularly see what's so wonderful about no thought . Could you enlighten me please ?

But you know , all this search for the truth can bring us really is an absence of searching , maybe that's what you're talking about .

Me I'd like to know the truth !

#92...Chanting is only a vehicle to a state of meditation.

#93...Yes, no thought.

#94...The use of no-thought is to carry the drop of water into the ocean. It is not being dead.

#95...mindfulness can bring peacefulness but it is not Nirvana.  You asked about Nirvana.  So I am told, if you experience no-thought you will answer your own questions.  Are you enlightened now?  Perhaps you should look into Zen.

#96...The old story goes: Before I was on the path to truth, mountains were just mountains.  Then I found the path to truth and mountains were no longer just mountains!  Then when the path was concluded, mountains were once again just mountains.

@xming.... you have very accurately descibed/defined what true meditation is. This has all been explained to tom by myself and several others many times over. His only response has been "what is the benifit of that? It's like being dead". He will Never "get it". A closed minded person living in denial. Never open to other possibilities, unable to see anything except is own misguided and false observations/interpretations of his existance.

He is so self centered he has deluded himself well beyond any hope of learning. The world revolves around tom.

Who in their "right mind" starts 1/2 dozen threads all about themselves.... while often posting 20 disoriented comments (all in a row)? It's CC'S one and only.

The truth is tom...(you're completely confused again)

you always claim you know what someone is talking about, place your own spin on it, turn the meaning inside out to fit your feeble mind. I have never seen you get it right. Not once. Ever, what someone else explains goes in 1 ear and out the other so fast you can't slow down to read the words. I especially like when you say the Websters dictionary is wrong, that your definitions of words are correct. The best by you is "natural" - not created by God. That's a great knee slapper, considering you don't believe in God, that makes the entire universe "natural", your latest favorite "tomism".

Xming .
Interesting question. I am enlightened . I don't think so .
I know how to attain peacefulness through mindfulness ..

In this state I experience love . I experience I am love . I see this love as why I'm worthwhile and I know this is who others truly are .

I don't know how things fit together . In the thread awareness I'm documenting what I see when I'm mindful .

Are you enlightened?

Md I get this I'm not on the right track , that I'm self centred , but why call me feeble minded ?

It's just confusing to me because I've found reaching a place of peace has brought me to feel love for my brothers and sisters . It's not that way for you ?

I am about as enlightened as a box of nails.   That said, according to many Buddhists, love and peacefullness are just sign posts on the path.  There is more.  Keep on with what makes you content.

beautiful and you too my friend. How lovely to have received such a positive message. I'd love you to follow my new thread awareness and be involved. Thank you.

Having been a Buddhist monk, I think I have a good idea what meditation is. To focus is meditation. Chess requires focus. Chess can be meditation. Anything can be meditation if one is focused in in the moment.
