I play the piano but I’m not that good.

Be seeing you! Pretty nervous, but I know the music so I'm sure I'll do fine. And piano is a hard instrument! Don't get yourself down. I recently started playing piano so I understand your pain.

I play guitar. I picked one up one year ago and have only played for like 50hours. Next year I want to play for 1 hour daily at least

Unsolicited Aged Advice: I’ve played for fifty years. If I could go back, I’d have put more time and practice into it. Don’t wait until next year. Start today. Never stop.

Wait,in the whole school, I am the best in piano.

I play grade 4 piano abrsm and I am passing the exam this month. Last year I had 127/ 150.

Thank you all for your comments!! It really makes me happy to see people enjoy music as much as I do. A special thanks to @CooloutAC for his comments. I really enjoyed his videos and it also sounds like his is a great guitar player.

Good advice. A nephew once asked me what it took to get good at guitar. My response was that it only took one hour. Every day. Without exception. And work at it, don't just plink around.

I'm not very good at guitar even though I've played off and on for many years. I started to get good about twenty years ago when I was playing hard about two hours a day. Life has a way of sucking my time into many directions.

Good advice. Practice is always the key with any instrument. I can tell you that firsthand.

You probably won't like this.  But this is the latest track Martina Recorded with her former Partner Tricky.  Their daughter committed suicide last year. They actually made this song a year before she did which is kind of eerie.     Its filmed in my home town,  NYC.    I was very into the trip hop scene that came out of britain in the early 90s when I was your age lol.

Tricky feat. Martina Topley-Bird - When We Die (Official Video) - YouTube

That's a sad story. But the song isn't half bad! I kind of like it.

This is a forum where you can discuss anything to do with music (your favorite pieces, what instrument you play + how long you have been playing, etc.) I will start.

I am currently a senior in high school, have been playing music for 8 years, started playing trumpet as well this year. I am planning to go to college and major in music. One of my favorite jazz pieces is We Three Swing by Vince Gassi.

Good for you!! I used to play the flute for 3 years..I got sick of band so i  quit but honestly i would love to go back to it. I miss being a band kid.

Band is a very fun thing to do. Flute is interesting because it can go, like, 6 bar lines above the staff lol. Seen some trumpet music like that too for the national anthem.

Indeed, but I still think percussion is superior to all, fight me on that.

i actually did percussion in my first year and a half. there was a spot open for flute, learned it, got ok? at it. i think i wanted change..but with percussion there SO MUCH to do and so many different instruments. idk maybe i just wanted one instrument all to myself or something idk

Link4000

True, but many of them are auxiliary percussion and are not hard to learn. Snare and timpani are the hardest imo.
