Welcome to the world of algebra.

Dragontracker

Don't worry.

It gets worse.

Dragontracker

What, specifically, are you having troubles with? PM me.

Platypus

my mom says im crawling in a cow feet hole

cacti2020

haha im learning inverse trig functions and its kinda confusing

Depending on how serious you are, losing contact with reality is a symptom of many different medical disorders. You may want to consider seeing a doctor if it's impacting your functioning. Besides the point, I don't see how this is related to "General Chess Discussion".

Calculus in 4 years (:

and I'm not even sure if any of that is right tbh

Each pawn can move 1 square at a time from the second rank.

Let x be the number of turns.

Assume a pawn cannot advance two squares on its first turn.

Calculate the minimum number of turns required to bring a pawn to the eighth rank.

Both require calculation.

Good news is you most likely wont ever need that atrocity in the real world... Unless you're trying to be an engineer or something akin.

I think we use algebra in our day to day life

I beg to differ. Can't recall any use of algebra today. Only knew my McDonalds meal cost $8.50 and I have ten bucks. Cashier gave me 1.50... Basic math.

x + 8.50 = 10

x = 10 - 8.50

x = 1.50

We use algebra regularly, but we also automatically solve them before even realising it.

Rancid-Knight

Looks like we've got some real algebra lovers in here. Point is most people never use and write out those formulas. As you said, "we also automatically solve them before even realising it."

AZA-kun

sorry

hold the phone

pre algebra is "+", "-", "*", "/"

why are you losing your grip

baby math

oPhilipz

My sister is a math teacher, and the way you present you work is very sloppy. And, sloppiness in presentation makes it difficult to identify mistakes. If you present your work in a more organized and neat manner, it would be easier for you to identify if your work is correct.

Maybe he meant pre-calculus.

IHaveTheSauce

If you lost it doing prealgebra get ready for a seizure doing algebra 1 and 2
