EDIT: Within three hours of this topic being posted, the group mentioned below has been deleted from the site.

We have a new group on the site which espouses an overtly racist, bigoted, and Neo-NAZI ideology on their home page.

They use the sig-rune "Black Sun" as their avatar.

I have issued this message to any of their members who are also members of any of my teams, including one well-known female master-level player:

I propose to ban you from several teams for which I am an administrator, due to your association with the overtly Neo-Nazi, racist, and bigoted "Greenline Front" group on chess.com.

Please respond within 48 hours.

JamieDelarosa

I have no time for white supremicism in my everyday life.  Millions died to stop this ideology; no reason to embrace it here.

Knights-Rule

What is the name of the group?

johnmusacha

Jamie says it in her post, brah. Unless she edited it in after your post, brah.

Greenline front, brah.

Anyway there always have been nazis on this site.

johnmusacha

This is them:

Run by a Belaroussian and a Pole.  Typical untermenschen trying to ape Nazi ideals to be "cool".

One might argue that this is a harmless environmental group.  Or even a start up neo-pagan group.  I have no problem with either.  But I do have a problem with the rhetoric and the symbolism they use.

This is the Schwarze Sonne floor mosaic from the "Obergruppenführer" Hall (SS Generals' Hall), at Wewelsburg Castle.  This location was considered by the Nazi SS to be the "center of the Aryan world."

The symbol has been adopted by Neo-Nazi groups in lieu of the Swastika.  Here is their home page avatar:

So what is the symbolism of the naked white chick with the AK-47, laurel leaves, and the Schwarze Sonne?  Then combine it with the "white man" rhetoric, and you have a noxious, toxic combination.

Some info I found. No idea if it's reliable. Undecided

johnmusacha

There is no symbolism to figure out.  Their home page talks about the struggle of the White race and all that.

Promotes Slavic holidays Kolovrat, laugh flayers and sadists who mock the animals.

Owners of page Recommend page scandalous Die rechte Front .

Will wait and see if these anti-censorship characters are going to come out of the woodwork to slam you for political correctness and censoring people for espousing ideas you don't like.

Don't get me wrong, JamieDelarosa - I'm a 100% with you on this.

If it's true, let chess.com deal with them. Lets not give the opportunists the opportunity to spread their filth.

JamieDelarosa

I don't see the issue as "political correctness."  Not on a privately owned website, at least.  One with terms of service which include the clause:

You agree to not use the Service to:

  • upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, defamatory, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable

Hmm, this group has only one member and not the profile pic you said. Are you sure your link is correct?

It appears they have gone out of business.

We already had the rootin tootin Putin crowd.

And the jihadis don't have time for chess, apparently.

But the skinheads will likely be protected by the free speech rules for the site.

And we currently have a sock puppet, look-a-like, rebellion via the PAT folks.

What a ZOO.

johnmusacha

Yes the group changed its name or something.
