My girlfriend and I first met at our university chess club two years ago, and we fell in love two months later. We've been playing chess every day since then. I'm around 1100 and my girlfriend is around 1800. I enjoy spending time with her, but her playstyle always makes me frustrated. She never checkmates me when she has the chance in the middle-game. Instead, she likes to win all my pieces patiently and then make all her past pawns into queens, and then force my king into a cornor to wait for a checkmate. I just find this playstyle so frustating, but she seems to have a lot of fun. I'm confused, isn't it better to win as soon as possible?
