Why show poor sportsmanship???

I have to say that over the board chess seems to be much fairer than internet chess. But that is not something special and a really known fact that some people get big balls in the internet.

Yeah, it's sad how people have to resort to chess to make themselves feel better. It's not just online chess or online bullet chess, but a lot of people lack courtesy in the real world too in OTB in my honest opinion. I can accept that many chess players can behave this way and I am already over it since I disabled live chat, public messages, and public notes. I can also take the bad behavior in real life too. It's fine now, I am feeling better.

Nice story! Yes, everyone has their own strategy of winning chess games (or drawing at least).

It is good to try not to be affected by it. I have another example. An IM told me that a really strong woman was playing a tournament. She was winning every game until round 5. Then she played against a grandmaster or at least a fairly decent player. She was showing a lot of skin if you know what I mean. What was the master doing. The master was sitting there with a cap and his hands covering his view even more. That was his example. I told him that I was scared because my opponent played so fast. I thought he was prepared. He made obviosly some crazy moves. But it turned out to be just nonsence what the oponnent did. I even showed you the game. The IM said that he does not mind if people use psychology. I do not know if that what the woman has done was already poor sportsmanship.

Yeah, it is better not to be affected by psychology or bad sportmanship. It comes up so often. People over you draws all the time. People staying close behind you, people are eating at the board. I hate that. People are drinking too much. There are so many examples. I sometimes put something in my ears that I can hear less at the chess board.

I guess I have experienced a lot of those stuff already. But as I said I try not to be too effected by it. As Bobby Fischer said:

I don’t believe in psychology. I believe in good moves

Good points. I believe in the beauty of games, not people's attitudes. In OTB tournaments, I have future plans to reduce my hearing so I can concentrate on my games. I once had another random guy trying to tell me what rules I should follow during my games as if he was an arbiter, it's just plain stupid...

The Sun and Moon Coin Illusion is one of the very best. It fools everybody, but of course for those who know the principle. It has not one but two reversals, stumping all observers. The Finish is clean, with the remaining coins observed and handled. A favorite of slight of hand practitioners.

Eventually, playing enough OTB , everybody resorts to their own devices. What works is trial and error, often superstition. No two are the same.

My opponent wrote me vulgar, that if he dont has time, and he has better possition, I must resign.

That happened to me in bullet and blitz games. I wished people were more respectful and less overreactive.......ughhhhh. No one has to owe you something especially from games. Some people care more about their rating and less about the quality of play. That's why I only accept one rematch and some people just want more and more until they are satisfied. At least I can disable chat and posts and only accept friend requests if I want to talk :/

Funny on the game was it, that I am played better. I had clear predominance. But If I seed, that time is short, I make disadvantageous exchange. And in ending I make blunder, becouse it was great hurry.  He did not hurry, therefore he dont mistake, but his time finished.

Exactly especially in bullet and blitz, it's not a big deal if anyone gets flagged. I care mostly about quality of play first before "fretting" about the rating points I lost. I don't mind if I get flagged. I blunder and make mistakes in time pressure. Nothings a big deal. Again, people aren't showing opponents respect at all here.

"Flogged"? More like flagged in bullet or blitz, or even just slower time controls. I don't think this is a necessary thing to do, matters if you are trolling or not happy.png

No, I am just discussing about psychology that happens in chess with some strong players. I will contribute more positive and useful things on chess.com when I have time. Thank you very much.

I just wanted to contribute something positive. Hope you are having a great time. Sorry again if I sounded a little too bold XD

All gentleman chess players should accept the fact there are bad eggs among chess players. Just disable chat and no words can be heard from them. And if they post rude remarks on your notes or send rude messages, block them.
