OTF and my thoughts on its problems.

If it would improve the overall quality of the forums in general, then I vote YES.
Fellings notwithstanding.

When have I ever indicated that I wanted OTF to be closed or deleted? I harbor no ill-will against OTF as a whole and I don't want it to get shut down or closed. That would make the notion of OTF redundant. I believe in stricter rules, much stricer and way more enforced so that we can start to see quality over sloppy quantity. If it "ruins the lives of 20 people" (which would honestly be funny; why are you dedicating yourself to a chess.com forum section? i get that it's a community, sure, but it doesn't dictate whether it will or won't ruin a part of your life or otherwie) then so be it, because the ends justify the means.

Fellings, nothing more than fellings ...

People's 'fellings' will always get hurt along the way, no matter the subject. The only option is to let it timber.

My fellings don't care about your facts

My facts are like axes. Your fellings will hurt, and eventually those fellings will have fallen.
-- -- -- On a more serious note, this is genuinely how some people react to contreversial posts or just posts they disagree with. They see the facts and let their emotions trump over logic. That's good in some cases, but not all.

As if CC actually cares. This has been a problem for the past 6 months and tons of people have spoken up about it and literally nothing has happened. At this point this forum is just a way for me to point out you- and by extension your 'communties' faults, and ways you can rectify them. I know not every community is perfect, but can you at least try to conduct yourselves in a manner befitting 'chess.com'? And I'll say this again; I don't bear any ill-will towards OTF, and will not attempt to have it shut down, removed, etc, so you don't have to worry yourself with that.

Just read (past-tense) this one. Some words of advice; try not to center your peace of mind around a volatile place like OTF. I understand this is a place for you to kick back and relax, but this place has some really toxic and rather... errr... nasty things that happen so I would reconsider. I'm fine with people coming and going for advice. Heartless? I'm trying to show a little empathy here by helping you guys out; showing you the "errors" that you seem to repeatedly commit. 'Lore' and 'History' is all good and well, but I wouldn't hold that up on a pedestal. A good game like Dogma has more depth than these forums, and from what I can see, only 5-10 people are successfully holding otf together. Gonna say this AGAIN; no, I'm not trying to "take this away from you," I'm just pointing out your actions that are less than neutral. In 5-10 years, these forums will most likely matter less to you than thye do now, so I would start to find other things to do aside from just coming here and 'relaxing' because there are more formative ways to spend your time (no offense to anyone on OTF, but I'm just sharing my perspective).

Fellings, nothing more than fellings ...
Fun fact: When beavers are chomping through a tree they chomp, then stop and listen, then chomp again, then stop and listen again, and so on. They stop and listen for sounds indicating that the tree they're felling is about to fell.
If a beaver is smart enough to beware of the dangers of heavy debris falling on them, shouldn't we expect the same from the humans?
Never mind. Lets consider this a nonsensical, rhetorical, and down right absurd post that doesn't even deserve a response.
Edit: Sorry, I forgot to add the beaver video.

Honestly if this place was removed then my rating would improve. I second I suppose.
This isn't a removal, more like advocating for stricter and better enforced rules. Removing it would lead to more problems than solutions with these people seeping into the chess forums to have their discussions.

Constructive criticism isn't bad. Plus no one is trying to remove OTF dude, even if someone tries, it is close to impossible.
If Chess.com wanted to remove OTF they could have done so. The OP isn’t advocating for that. The OP just wants people to not make 5000 person above you threads filling up the front page. To have threads made for an actual purpose, instead of just for popularity and getting achievements.

Hi Sriyo. Surprised to see you’re online.
So am I. It's been weeks since I played a game of chess lol.
