I play Piano, Cello and guitar mostly but I also know a bit of harp, trumpet, flute and oboe 😅😅

I learnt basic music theory as a kid but never had lessons. I was in my 20s when I started learning music theory every day and I'm probably around ABRSM grade 5 for performance ability and much lower for theory. I started learning Mozart's K576 which is at least a grade 8 but had to stop because my finger joints started to click which was agonising. I had to stop learning it right before the counterpoint which is what I was aiming for. I learnt pieces by my other favourite composers Chopin and Debussy but haven't played them for so long I would have to start again with the sheet music from bar one. Learning music by Debussy was a unique experience.

Seiiren

yeah, its a cool instrument, but lordy are they expensive

one of the highest base price instruments ive seen, with just a normal, decent quality one sitting around like 300 dollars

DJossund

I have been playing piano casually since the age of six. Here are two of my favourite songs I can play :

( Some parts of this song I can't play quite as fast as they did in the video .. but almost ! happy.png )

Here are three piano songs I enjoy listening to -- of course I am completely incapable of playing any of these pieces !

Ravel's music is beautiful in my opinion ... Best composer for the instrument the world has ever had !

I love this thread! The best pianist ever is without doubt Lang Lang and I love this video for a few reasons. It's a beautiful red piano and Lang Lang introduces the piece as a folk tune but it leads in to Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2.

Lang Lang started learning piano after seeing the Tom & Jerry cartoon "The Cat Concerto" on tv when he was a few years old and was inspired to play piano by Tom stretching his fingers in the cartoon so every time I watch this video I end up with tears in my eyes.
