Oliver Cromwell. He was such a hated person that they dug him up from his grave and hung him, even though he was already dead. They then decapitated him and put his head on a stick for all to see.
post your nicknames for me
A little history lesson. Oliver Cromwell, when the king was decapitated, took over power. Parliament, which became highly Catholic, wanted to change how holidays were celebrated. No dancing was allowed. No eating goose or other meals, since fasting became a thing instead of feasting. Parliament would send people out to confiscate any goose to be eaten. And people weren’t allowed to go to church on Christmas either. Pubs were closed, and so were theatres and plays. It made people miss the monarchy. When Cromwell died, they hated him so much they dug him up from his grave, and symbolically killed him again by hanging him, and then decapitated him and put his head on a stick. They hated Cromwell a lot.

I can imagine this will repeat in modern times, too.
