Someone was going on about "the day of visibility" on here last week or so. Sounds like something out of Dungeons and Dragons.
You know for sure whoever came up with it got a wedgie and got put in the sandpit in school. Most gay men that I've known were from the rave scene and the drug scene and were actually alright/cool lol. Trans people can quite a lot more psycho, but I've gotten on great with them too at times (I wouldn't if they were being proper lame).
IRL is very different from internet activism.

Why a whole month tho? Big Hollidays only get a day, and its been like that for centuries... How did pride end up with a whole month?

Homophobia is not a fear of homos*xuals. Rather a hate or disrespectful view of them.
We take a month because for so long we were oppressed and now that we aren't we are showing who we are. We are strong and proud. There is black history month as well. That is the same ideal. We ended up with a month because there are also many different parts to our community.
