ten people r to b lined up on stairs and given randomly assigned black or white hats. everyone will only be able to see everyone in front of him. everyone must guess the color of his own hat starting with the person on the top stair, but one person may get it wrong. they have ten minutes together beforehand to work out a plan. they can not stress a syllable or speak loudly or quietly. they can not say anything but black or white. how do they do it?
