Update: The guy with the axe was caught. He never got near my house, so it was my friend for sure.

Update: I noticed something...strange, about my friend's prank. They are 5 foot 3. The distance from my window to the ground is 7 feet. How did they get up there? sPoOkY!
But seriously, even with this update, I still think it's my friend. My window has a little ledge so it's not impossible for them to do like a pull-up and look through.

I seriously considered getting some kind of weapon, but I decided to stay and act like I didn't see them to try and get a good look at their face. So I did a test, and now I'm really paranoid. I'm 5 foot 10, and I can jump pretty high, but I could barely reach the ledge. I don't think it's likely that my friend could jump high enough to catch the ledge.
My current explanation (read: what I'm telling my paranoid brain) is that it's possible that they could've climbed a nearby tree and jumped over onto the little ledge. It's also possible that they could jump up using some kind of ladder. But if that's true, where is it now? My friend certainly didn't have a ladder with them when I found them.
Anyone got any explanations?

So I did another test. I tried climbing up onto the tree to see if it was possible to reach the ledge that way. The branches snapped the first two times I tried but on the third time I was actually able to get myself on the ledge the same way whoever was at my window did.
So it's not impossible to do, if a little tricky.
I don't know if this is all the way related to chess, but I'll say it anyway. I was playing on chess.com last night, and I saw somebody staring through my window. I went to go tell them to go away, but they left the window and I couldn't find them. Not a trace. So I went back to play again, and I finished the game. In the next game, actually on the same move, I found them at the window again. I was pretty scared now, so I called one of my friends. Then I heard a phone ringing outside. My friend said he was "just walking behind my house" but I know he was pranking me. Thought it was a funny chess story and wanted to share it..
