Something scary about teleportation...

I had a random thought: what would happen if you teleport without choosing a destination?(if it was possible). What would happen to you? Would you cease to exists? If not where would you go? Would it be compared to just dying?

#1 In this experiment one can argue that since every atom of of your body is removed then rearranged somewhere that person is still you but another arguement is that since you have been disintigrated you have died and what that has been made by rearranging molecules together is only a copy of you but not actually you. For me personally both arguement seems insufficient and things quickly go towards philosophical questions like "who are you actually" "are you a mind or a body or are you something seperate from them?"Its a lot to ponder....
Very true. This is one of those rare situations where philosophy meets science. To find the answer, we'd have to know what "consciousness" is, which is something we are very far from.

Curious, depends on the method of teleportation. If the method was the one I'd described in #1, it'd be practically impossible to teleport without a location.
