Sorry guys I had no idea they would lock the threads if a person talks about religion.

Debate+ is the larger group (3000+ members rather than Open Discussion 1000+), but may be more oriented around chat than forums. It could probably do well at both, though.

Open Discussion is not a forum category, it is a separate Club: if you are accessing the site through the iPhone app, that may be why you can't get to it - I don't know when that functionality will be added to the app (if ever) - sorry.

Gotta love the lack of subtlety!
Saying you did not know doing something is against the rules; and then post the very same digression as the example! LOL

Thank you David Yes Please Lightning Whip, come on over. Our doors are ALWAYS open. We need more FNG's
We got your religion
https://www.chess.com/groups/home/open-discussion Its perfectly safe there. Erik's a moderator

A Sunday school teacher asked her children on the way to service, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?" One little girl replied, "Because people are sleeping."

Diddums. In North Korea the dog(s) eat YOU.Usually after being starved for 3 days to give them that extra appetite. So don't go there.Or maybe......??

Everything that's interesting is not allowed here. Big Brother is always watching and threatening people. This is what it must be like in North Korea.
In North Korea, you're allowed to talk about politics all you want, as long as the subject is how great the Juche ideal is.

You guys just don't get it obviously.
You can talk about politics and religeon all you want. There exists several places to do this.
The issue is (quite obvious) a thread gets created to discuss a topic. Abusers, hijackers or who ever, do not have the right to start discussing politics and religeon, which is way off topic, in any thread they want.
Grow up and understand what makes us free. It is not the idiotic notion that anything should be allowed to be discussed at anytime, anywhere.

This is what it must be like in North Korea.
That's on the same level as the comparison with the KGB in its offensiveness towards those who have or are actually suffering under the strictures of the regime. You can't talk about what you want to - at worst, Chess.com suspends your posting privileges - boo hoo. Chess.com does not send people around to your home to kidnap and torture you.

Chess.com does not send people around to your home to kidnap and torture you.
I'M NOT CONVINCED
Seriously, though, I disagree with Chess.com's policy, but it does get irritating when people deliberately and earnestly invoke comparisons to Stalinism or Nazism, or think that being told no on a chess site is an infringement of their right to free speech.

Yes, not a nice joke. It would be funny to watch pdela jumping off the window to avoid them, though...
