Super Smash Bros. Series: Who is your favorite/"main" character?

Sort:
edgeworth09

In terms of a moveset for him, I'm thinking of this for his specials:

Neutral Special: Objection

Side Special: Present Evidence

Up Special: Ladder v Stepladder

Down Special: Collect Evidence

Final Smash: Penalty/Ace Attorney

Objection is pretty self explanatory. The Evidence system can function is it did in Marvel vs Capcom 3, but without modes you can switch between. Instead, you can collect up to five pieces of evidence, and present them to deal damage. Evidence can also have an effect on his Final Smash, more on that later. In Ladder vs Stepladder, he can press the button to create a step ladder, and hold it to create a ladder. The ladder covers more height and is better for recoveries. And now onto the Final Smash. If Phoenix Wright doesn't have 5 pieces of evidence, he will activate the final Smash "Penalty" in which he presents a piece of evidence to trap the opponent, and then the judge slams his gavel saying "Penalty" Both players will be hit, but only the other one will receive damage. For "Ace Attorney", a laser will fire across the screen, and anyone hit in it will be subject to the final Smash. The camera will zoom into Phoenix's face, and then he will have a realization and the "correct option" will shatter, dealing damage to the opponent. After which he will Object, and then it moves to a courtroom. Phoenix, Apollo, Athena, Mia, Edgeworth, and Naruhodō will all yell "Take That!" at the same time, dealing extreme damage to the opponent

You've got it all worked out already, haven't you? wink.png

p.s. In your defense, I sometimes get really excited thinking about stuff like this too. Yeah, they probably will never manifest: but it is cool to imagine and a really exciting moment if/when it does come out the way you anticipated happy.png

edgeworth09

I've thought even further then that

edgeworth09

This is a template I found. I will now attempt to fill everything out.

Name: (What's the name of the fighter your using?) Phoenix Wright

Series: (Where is your fighter from?) Ace Attorney

Trailer Tagline: (What's the reveal tagline for your fighter's trailer?) Phoenix Wright Takes The Case!

Pose: (How will your fighter pose?)Phoenix Wright - Sprite Gallery | Ace Attorney Wiki | Fandom

Icon: (What will the icon for your fighter be?) (Example: Mario characters have mushrooms, Pokemon have pokeballs, etc.) Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Symbol Computer Icons, ace PNG clipart ...

Color swap palettes: (What other costumes will your fighter have? Use eight skins, plus the default)Trilogy, Edgeworth, Larry, Godot, DD, Apollo, Athena, Blackquill

Intro: (How will your fighter enter the stage?) Opens the courtroom door and walks out, tapping paper as he does so

Stand animation: (If you don't press anything, what animations will your fighter do?) Adjusts his tie, thinks

Walking animation: A normal walk

Running animation:A normal run

Falling animation:Looks frightened as he falls

Attacks: (How will your fighter attack?)

A:Holds up paper
AA:Taps paper
AAA: Rapidly taps paper
A Side: Points
A Dash: Falls over
A Down: Fingerprinting
A Up: Has an idea, light bulb causes damage
Air Neutral: Sneezes
Air Forward: Points
Air Back: Points backwards
Air Up: Waves evidence
Air Down: Hold It!
Charge Smash Side: Take That
Charge Smash Up: Luminol, will leave traces of blood behind in certain areas as an easter egg  (if it doesn't affect the age rating)Charge Smash Down: Desk Slam
Grab: Magatama, holds the opponent in the psyche lock
Throw Forward: Psyche lock breaks, pushing him in the forward direction
Throw Back: Psyche lock breaks, pushing him in the backward direction
Throw Up: Psyche lock breaks, pushing him in the upward direction
Throw Down: Psyche lock breaks, pushing him in the downward direction
Up Taunt: Maya enters the foreground temporarily to cheer him on
Side Taunt: Phoenix Wright brings out the Mood Matrix, nervous marker is beeping intensely        Down Taunt: Phoenix reviews the case

B Moves: (What will your fighters B special moves and customs moves be?) I already mentioned these, so I'll just give any additional details

B: Objection! The most devastating move besides the final smash, increases in power when evidence is added

Side B: Present's evidence, similar to Bridge to the Turnabout in Marvel vs Capcom.

Up B: Ladder vs Stepladder, Maya will hand him the ladder

Down B:Collect evidence, no further details

Final Smash: (Your fighter got the Smash Ball! What will happen?) Already stated everything regarding this:

Victory Theme: (Your fighter won! What will their victory theme be?)Either an arrangement of Objection or Pursuit, probably 2001

Victory Poses: (How will your fighter celebrate their victory?)

Option 1: His Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 victory pose

Option 2: Confidently poses as he says a typical Ace Attorney quote

Option 3: Discusses burgers with Maya

Lose Pose: Claps with sweating animation as his face

Kirby Hat: (Kirby copied your fighter's B move! What's his hat?)Phoenix's spiky hair

Punch Out Stage Alias: (Examples: Mario: Mr. Video Game Himself! Luigi: The Eternal Understudy!)Turnabout Terror

Stage: (Every fighter has to have a stage! What's their's?) Already explained, goes by the name of Ace Attorney

Stage description: (Describe how the stage looks) Already covered, The Court Record willbe in the corner. Also, the trial will resume after the explosion as a reference to Turnabout for Tomorrow

Stage hazards: (What hazards appear on the stage?) For Kurain Village, I would have it as a walk off, and there won't be too many hazards. For the Courtroom, Apollo and Edgeworth's Objections can do damage, but nothing else. When the explosion happens, everyone will evacuate, and one platform will turn into the lobby. When the explosion happens, anyone who isn't in the lobby will get caught in the explosion, and some platforms have edges which can deal damage.

Stage music: (What's the music playing there? Do five songs only) There's way too many songs for just 5. Due to the amount of choice, I'll ignore this one and see what Sakurai comes up with if he gets in

Classic Mode Route: (What's the name of your fighter's classic mode route?)The Smashing Turnabout

Assist Trophies: (Optional) (What's another character from the same series that would make a good Assist Trophy?) I know they won't do assist trophies anymore, but Franziska would make a great one

There you go. It is clear I have way too much time on my hands

First of all, where did you get this template? I might want to use it for some Smash Bros. Character ideas myself happy.png

Secondly, for anyone unaware of the Ace Attorney series: this is filled in template is golden grin.png

I'd only like to add that music is flexible. Sakurai has done well on this front, so I could just leave it, but choosing 5 songs from this series is tough to narrow down for sure - especially including remix options like many songs in Smash have done.

Also, you mentioned GaMetal before too - I would love to see one of his created pieces used in something as popular as Smash Bros. happy.png This could be one of the 5 songs wink.png

I cut parts out if I felt it was too generic, or if I didn't really understand it. I also cut out parts that were for a different Smash Bros game, like Subspace related parts.

Smash Bros is one of the best remix collections ever. Ace Attorney composer Noriyuki Iwadare has done loads for Smash Bros, so if he doesn't get involved, I will be genuinely surprised. Jun Senoue is also involved, and although he has only done one remix in Ultimate, in the unlikely event that he is involved, I would have officially made it to paradise. Other great composers are involved as well. We have no way of knowing what arrangements could come out of this (although if he gets in, Iwadare is definitely involved).

GaMetal has done 4 Ace Attorney Arrangements so far, and I would have personally gone for Wanting To Find The Truth. But I'd honestly rather have only original songs and some new arrangements from gaming's finest composers in there, since Ace Attorney's music is perfect as it is.

I would be very interested in seeing your characters, KeSeto.

edgeworth09

Also, I kind of wish I got Maya more involved then I did, but the other ideas just ended up displacing them

edgeworth09

And I feel bad for making you read all of that as well.

I don’t play smash but I randomly found this and wanted to add something.
edgeworth09

Alright

edgeworth09

I highly recommend you play Smash.

Thanks for the template. Yeah, I've got loads of character suggestions for Smash, but I don't know how much time I may have to put them into this template grin.png

My main has been Luigi/Falco since Smash 4. And no, I don't play Luigi for the stupid 0 to death combo.

I have all the time in the world (obvious exaggeration). I could try a couple, although I doubt they'll ever be as good as the one I did with Nick

Yeah, seriously. It is a truly unique experience set apart from others in the franchise.

I don't either. The only rare occasion I play Ultimate is when my friend visits because he usually brings his Switch with him.

However, I do have:

Super Smash Bros. (1) on Nintendo 64, Melee (2) on Gamecube (first Smash Bros. game I ever got), Brawl (3) on Wii, Super Smash Bros. 4 on Wii U (4).

I have no interest in getting a Switch because Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of the few games I'd care for and it isn't worth buying a new system just for one game. I am much more likely to buy a PS4 (which I still don't have, but been saving up for).

edgeworth09

I can think of a few others. But none are exclusive.
