mod on chesscom is a far cry from world domination.

You have to start somewhere.

Look, cheating is only cheating when it's defined to be. Engine use is not cheating if the rules allow it. Macer, in his wisdom, will lift restrictions of engine use. Thus, it wouldn't be considered cheating anymore.

Exactly.  It seems some people are trying to sabotage his campaign with mudslinging.  Hopefully macer takes the high road here.

Thank you for your support TrumpBolado!

I appreciate the discourse that my campaign is generating regarding topics such as engine usage, and I think such discussion is beneficial to making chess.com a more free and open community. As people have likely noticed, one of the points in my platform is to foster dialogue and understanding, and I am happy to see that my campaign is already helping to achieve that goal.

My only request is that we can continue the discussion without resorting to the use of epithets like the c-word, which, as I have explained earlier in this thread, is offensive due to its negative connotations. I believe that it is entirely possible to have the discussion in a civilized manner, and in a way that makes all members feel welcome to jump in and contribute their thoughts.

some people consider trolling offensive, so if you are going to consider the exact same things offensive that the current mods consider offensive, what positive changes can we look forward to under your regime ?

Well, one of the positive changes, as Bestpony has mentioned, is that there will be a more visible presence of Yui in the forums and elsewhere in the community. Yui represents love and understanding, which are fundamentally important values to our community, and promoting Yui will allow us to ensure that these values continue to be recognized and cherished.

In addition, there are also many other positive changes I will make, which are detailed in my platform. Some of the include increasing ratings for all members, ending the exploitation of regular members by titled players, and fostering dialogue and understanding by getting rid of the block function.

Also, for those who are concerned about the impending implementation of V3, as a staff member I will scrap the V3 project forever. Please see post #114 for my detailed thoughts on the subject.

Yui is ok for under-5 girls. If that's what you represent macer, I'm staying on pdela's team.

In order to make the decision as to whether or not to support you, I have to see what your platform is, and what actions you will undertake to make chess.com a better place for everyone. My campaign is a movement representing the voice of the people, so I will support you if and only if the people want me to.

Who is going to send a Ken and Barbie to members for Christmas ?

While I like the spirit of your idea, I do not think that would be a very efficient use of chess.com funds, which are best used for tackling the problems that I have mentioned. Not all chess.com members like Kens and Barbies, so sending these toys to all members will be a waste of resources.

JuJitsuShihhTsu

sounds like you don't have the trump spirit then, more of the old Scrooge tactics for staff and members. some new beginning you are!

A chess.com staff member is just a figurehead and hasn't the ability to make any real changes. That said, you have my meaningless vote.
