Not everything is about doing the most impressive things, HTML isn’t hard but it’s efficient and useful, I was just saying that as far as comparing it to other languages, there’s not much case logic or interactivity to worry about compared to other languages because the purpose is really just to display a page.

yes html is a MARKUP LANGUAGE it is in the name. if you want to actually have interactivity like this you need a programming language.
Also btw, the reason you’re struggling is because you can’t do everything in HTML you need a secondary language for some of the functions you’re trying to do
css can do animations and with new chromium standard you can do basic if statements in it but it still wouldn't be able to handle this
